About the role

This is an 8 month full time parental leave contract role based in Sydney.

We're looking for someone with a true passion for start-ups who believes in impact, has a curious and analytical mind, is good with numbers and wants to help build a better world. You will be a core member of our team and be involved in the end to end investment process, from initial contact, screening and due diligence to helping support our portfolio companies and will play a critical role in administration, systems and reporting.  You'll report to our Head of Strategy.

What you'll do

Working with the Alberts Impact Ventures team, you will:

• Support the team with all aspects of deal generation and diligence

• Actively contribute to the end to end investment process for Alberts Impact Ventures

• Conduct deep due diligence into potential investment opportunities

• Support Alberts Impact Ventures portfolio companies to help those companies achieve their growth, future capital raising and exit goals

• Be responsible for administration, systems, file management and reporting, co-ordinating all inputs and team meetings

About you

• You really care about making a positive impact and don't see a trade-off between purpose and profit

• You are excited about working in a small team where you'll get broad exposure and the chance to play an important role in the business’s success

• You have great analytical and research skills, understand business models and can quickly interrogate an opportunity

• You are an all-rounder, who's seen and done different things

• You enjoy multi-tasking, are great at prioritising and taking the lead but can also co-ordinate input from others

• You have strong written communication and report writing skills

• You are comfortable working with software platforms, developing and maintaining systems and managing reporting

• You are curious with a passion for entrepreneurial businesses, early-stage companies, investment and the VC ecosystem

• You love working with and supporting others, are good at maintaining relationships and want to help founders grow

• You possess a strong working track record with relevant experience (3-5 years operationally at a startup, at a consultancy or an investment bank or in another investment role, venture capital experience desirable)

• You’re qualified with a relevant tertiary degree in business, finance or other relevant qualification

• You have the right to work in Australia
