Job Description
The Technical Analyst role provides technical expertise to support the assessment of carbon-crediting programs against our Core Carbon Principles (CCPs) and Assessment Framework, and may support on the assessment of carbon credit categories on occasion. The Technical Analyst will also contribute to the process of developing guidance for carbon-crediting programs applying to the ICVCM for assessment. The role involves working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to support the work of various committees and working groups by providing detailed research and analysis, creating content for presentations and working with expert stakeholders to identify research and analysis needs, along with other related tasks.
Once accredited, carbon-crediting programmes and methodologies must meet ongoing assurance requirements to demonstrate compliance, and the Technical Analyst will collaborate with colleagues in identifying and addressing potential issues relating to the use of the CCP label.
This role’s technical insight into rigorous assessment, ongoing assurance and process improvement are key to achieving ICVCM’s vision of “Finance delivered at scale for climate solutions that support people and planet.”
To succeed in this role, you will need a deep knowledge and understanding of carbon-crediting programs and methodological approaches for quantifying emission reductions and removals. You will be able to demonstrate experience of analysing the requirements of carbon crediting programs, methodologies and/or other climate mitigation activities against a framework, and delivering robust assessment processes to agreed timescales. This is a highly collaborative role, working with a wide range of stakeholders, and in line with agreed governance requirements.
This role can be based anywhere with sufficient overlap with European working hours; however, you must have experience of operating in an environment where English is the primary working language, and strong written and oral communication skills in English.

The salary is advertised in GBP; for candidates outside the UK, this will be adjusted to align with local market rates.
