Job Description

Job title: Senior Commercial Manager - Grocery

Department: Sales

Salary: A competitive salary is available plus great company benefits 

Location: Flexible hybrid working, three days in office (Farringdon), two days working from home

Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

The Role:

As a Senior Commercial Manager – Grocery, you’ll be responsible for managing key grocery accounts, including Tesco, Tesco Ireland, and Waitrose, with full P&L accountability. Reporting directly to the Head of Grocery, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving sales performance, optimising profitability, and ensuring strong relationships with our retail partners.

You’ll take the lead on executing sales strategies, overseeing promotional activities, and delivering against growth targets. Additionally, you will manage and mentor the Grocery Commercial Executive, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the team. This is a key role for someone looking to make a tangible impact on the business by delivering exceptional results in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full operational, P&L and strategic responsibility to drive growth within your managed retailers through landing creative, high-growth plans.

  • Developing strong cross-functional relationships with customers (buyers, category managers, supply chain).

  • Building good understanding of customer strategies, competitive landscape & growth opportunities.

  • Growing Little Moons brand through increased distribution, physical availability, effective promotions, trade marketing activations, revenue growth management and NPD launches.

  • Negotiating & delivering strong profitable JBPs.

  • Close collaboration with internal S&OP processes to ensure ‘right first time’ forecasting & successful customer fulfilment and NPD delivery.

  • Close collaboration with Marketing & Category teams to deliver high impact trade marketing initiatives and maximise growth plans and physical availability.

  • Identifying & launching into profitable white space opportunities within your customers’ channel (Convenience, Qcom, Online etc).

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong, proven experience working within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, specifically with UK grocery customers.

  • Proven experience in managing one of the Top 6 grocery accounts in the UK.

  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to drive results through effective communication and strategic thinking.

  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to stay highly organised, ensuring that tasks and responsibilities are managed efficiently and accurately.

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with proficiency in Excel, enabling effective management and analysis of data for decision-making purposes.
