This is a full time, fixed term contract until March 2028.
The location of this role is either York, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Cambridge, Swindon, Bristol or Portsmouth, inclusive with hybrid working.

What you will be doing
The National Projects Manager (Capital and repair works) will manage capital and repair projects and initiatives from across Historic England’s office estate. They will be responsible for ensuring effective management and delivery of a range of projects. They will work with external consultants and contractors, as well as colleagues from a wide range of departments across Historic England from Architects and Surveyors to Facilities Managers and HE’s technical conservation specialists.
To work on Historic England’s flagship Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings project to manage and close out the residual outstanding patent and latent defects following the recent completion of the restoration of the Grade 1 Main Mill. Please note that a willingness to travel regularly to Shrewsbury is a requirement of this role.
Who we are looking for
Experience in construction project management working on public estates/portfolio of existing buildings
Qualification in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture or other relevant construction field
Demonstratable experience of planning, delivery and close of multiple concurrent projects and/or programmes
Experience of working on construction projects including building fabric repairs, refurbishments, building services and fit outs in existing buildings
Proven experience of managing budgets, procurement and/or management of construction contracts, including risk management
