Overview of the role

Tripple is a 100% impact, family investment company seeking to use capital as a force for good through a combination of investments and grantmaking. Established in 2018, we pride ourselves on pushing the boundaries and are looking for a General Manager passionate about people and planet to take this work to the next level.

The General Manager will act as strategic partner, team leader and manage investments and philanthropic activities as well as general operations. This new role will manage our small team of 4 highly mission-driven people and work closely with the executive directors in shaping the business strategies and ensure we achieve our mission to use capital to propel us towards a just and sustainable future for all.

Tripple’s philanthropy supports this mission by focussing on systems change (advocacy, movement building, policy, strategic litigation) in Australia across climate and social justice. We are currently building an office in Cremorne, Melbourne expected to be completed in mid 2023 that will act as a hub for like-minded investors, founders, businesses and change-makers. Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management 

    • Executing multi-asset investment strategy developed by the Board

    • Working with our Investment Associate to present opportunities to the Investment Committee 

    • Day-to-day management and diligence of investment opportunities alongside Investment Associate incl. deal sourcing, meeting with founders, investment analysis of opportunities and ongoing total portfolio management

    • Oversee/execute philanthropy strategy with the Executive Directors and Philanthropy Lead

  • Operations

    • Develop annual budgets, forecasts, cashflow tracking and liquidity planning

    • Financial governance, controls and payment procedures

    • External relationship management (Accountant, Lawyer etc.)

    • Quarterly internal reporting, policies and governance 

  • Team Leadership 

    • Shape, guide and maintain a positive and productive team culture by ensuring the values are lived, updated and communicated

    • Management and ongoing development of team members

    • Conduct team performance and salary reviews in consultation with the Executive Directors

  • Community building 

    • Brand management, sponsorships and comms including speaking at events, network building etc. 

    • Public Reporting (including Annual Review & Diversity Survey report)

    • Office space activation alongside community manager
