Motivated to join us and make a difference beyond earth? We are currently looking for a SPINtern to join us to to do co-engineering in a small, fast-moving, agile team to find an ideal testing solution for our robotic arm that will be used for our CLEAR mission.

Project Description:

• Setup of the robotic arm software front-end

• Testing a novel joint actuator for a space robot

• Setup software to automate tests and provide data gathering capabilities.

• Setup of automated data post-processing to enable rapid assessment of joint metrics.

• The project will involve hands on experience with flight representative spacecraft mechanisms, providing experience of software, electrical and firmware fields.

• Presenting at team meetings and interacting with stakeholders and suppliers

Applicant Specification:

We are looking for someone who is interested in space systems engineering and spacecraft design, with an interest in robotics.

Minimum requirements:

• Passion, enthusiasm and a proactive attitude towards learning.

• Currently pursuing or completed a relevant degree in aerospace, computer science, or engineering.

• Demonstrated interest in high performance software design.

• At least 1 year experience with coding in both Python and C/C++

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Process details:

• 8 weeks minimum fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate

• 4 days holiday to be taken during the placement
