A specialised focus on venture or commercial investment (including convertible instruments, venture debt and traditional capital raises).
Strong drafting, review and negotiation skills across the suite of startup investment transactions, you can autonomously manage and execute on these transactions from end to end.
High level skills in communication and negotiation as well as the ability to build partnerships with a broad range of clients.
It would be an added bonus if you have any of the following in your toolkit (but these aren’t essential):
Experience working across general corporate matters - corporate governance, employee equity and incentivisation, structuring and capital management (including cap table management).
Previous coaching and management skills, working well with a team of legal pros.

Understanding or experience in:
Funds establishment, governance and compliance.
Delivery of legal services in an in-house or quasi in-house environment - to both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
You have experience collaborating with accountants, tax advisors and/or software engineers to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.
Your role at LUNA:
Legal Service Delivery - delivering technically excellent but commercially sensible legal documents and advice that is tailored to the startup world, including:
Venture Investment - we’re talking everything from SAFEs and convertible notes, venture debt, equity crowdfunding through to Series A/B raises and beyond;
Startup M&A - acquisitions through to final exits;
Structuring Advice - set up and governance of funds and innovation arms;
Employee Incentives - including ESOPs, advising from the perspective of an investor.
General Commercial - the whole suite of BAU-style contracting, including SaaS and technology licencing.
Build LUNA's Investment Practice — we want you to play an integral role in building our investment practice. Alongside our Head of Investments, Natalie Fernandes, you will be helping us build LUNA’s investment expertise (everything from systems, data and thought leadership to hiring and scaling).
BD - we don’t see rain making as something that is just for “Partners” — it’s a core skill for any entrepreneur and that’s exactly how we see all of our team: entrepreneurial in spirit and attitude. This might mean attending and representing LUNA at startup events or taking clients out for coffee but we will let you dictate how you approach BD. Building a BD strategy for LUNA’s investment work will be a key focus of this role.
Impact — we want you to have an impact beyond our investment and legal services. This means contributing to panel discussions, running workshops and ideation sessions, writing up helpful articles and blog posts and using tech to build out new products. It also might mean getting involved in one of our various committees or passion projects. We want you to have an impact that is authentic and fulfilling.
