About This Role

As a Senior Children & Young People Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, you will lead a small team providing specialist support to children and young people aged 4-24 who have experienced or witnessed domestic abuse. You will play a key role in both delivering and overseeing one-to-one support and groupwork, ensuring children feel safe, develop healthy relationships, and have the emotional tools to heal and thrive. This is an opportunity to make a real impact, shaping the support offered and empowering young people to move forward with confidence.

You will:

  • Lead and support a team of specialist domestic abuse practitioners working with children and young people.

  • Provide direct support to children, young people, and their parents, ensuring services are trauma-informed, needs-led, and risk-assessed.

  • Advocate for children’s voices to be heard in their support journey, empowering them with information and choices.

  • Build relationships with key agencies to strengthen community responses for children impacted by domestic abuse.

  • Ensure safeguarding is at the heart of our work, following best practice policies.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

âś… Has at least three years of experience providing emotional and practical support to children, young people, and families.

âś… Understands the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people and how to support recovery.

âś… Has experience in managing a small team, providing supervision and case management.

✅ Is confident working in multi-agency settings, advocating for children’s needs.

âś… Holds a Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Abuse: Prevention & Early Intervention or equivalent.

âś… Is values-driven, bringing curiosity, kindness, and dedication to their work.

A driving licence, access to a car, and business-use insurance (or the ability to travel effectively) are required for this role.
