Job Description

The Associate, Responsible Investment Engagement and Innovation supports the development and operation of PRI’s Sustainable Systems Asset Owner and Investment Manager programs.  These programmes seek to maintain and facilitate a dialogue with investment managers and asset owners signatories on the barriers they face as responsible investors contributing to a sustainable financial system.

The role includes research, analysis, recording and synthesizing feedback from signatories, supporting production of actionable recommendations for the PRI, consultation with teams across PRI and engagement with leading asset owner and investment manager signatories.

The Associate will report to the Head, Responsible Investment Engagement & Innovation.    

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the Asset Owner and Investment Manager Sustainable System groups in a committee secretariat role, preparing meeting agendas and papers and recording conclusions and actions arising from the groups’ meetings.

  • Support the co-ordination and dissemination of outputs from the asset owner and investment manager groups to gather their priorities for the PRI and embed key insights into PRI’s activities and workstreams.

  • Organise meetings, conduct research and prepare reports as required to support dialogue with leading asset owners and investment managers.

  • Help maintain and build relationships with leading investment managers and asset owners as well as internal and external stakeholders.

  • Analyse and synthesize data and feedback from asset owners and investment managers.

  • Run recruitment and orientation of new members for the Sustainable Systems Investment Manager Reference Group (SSIMRG).

  • Play a leading role in organising the workstreams of SSIMRG that focus on barriers investment managers face in relation to creating a sustainable financial system.

  • Develop knowledge on advanced practices on investor impact and / or stewardship.

Person Specification

  • Familiarity with PRI’s mission, strategy and internal and external operating environment. 

  • Good networking, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong and productive relationships in different circumstances (remote/in-person or internal/external) with a clear understanding of what drives people and how to achieve optimal outcomes

  • Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to successfully deliver planning processes

  • Good administration skills including the ability to prepare meeting agendas/ papers and record conclusions and actions

  • A collaborative and consultative approach to working with others & committed to fostering an inclusive environment. 

  • Well-developed facilitation skills. Diplomacy, tact, and ability to build consensus.

  • Excellent research and analysis skills with the ability to prepare reports to support dialogue with key stakeholders.

  • Excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills.

  • Language skills, other than English, are desirable.
