Investment Summer Internship Programme 2025
Wellcome Trust
- Closing: 11:59pm, 2nd Feb 2025 GMT
Job Description
Wellcome is an independent global charitable foundation, we fund our grants and other activities from our £37.6 billion investment portfolio, which spans public equity, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds and property.
During the Wellcome Investment team summer internship you’ll undertake analysis, learn about financial markets, and understand how our long-term philosophy seeks to generate returns to support Wellcome’s mission.
You will have a front-row seat at the team’s regular Investment Decision Meetings, chaired by our Chief Investment Officers, where key portfolio decisions are debated and made. Through this, and by interacting with other members of the team, you will gain substantial exposure to financial markets and the various asset classes we invest in.
Our internship suits self-motivated individuals who can think on their feet, enjoy being challenged and are motivated to try new things and contribute their ideas whilst working in a dynamic team.
You will also have opportunities to learn about Wellcome’s mission and the research the organisation funds in discovery science and solutions, including the impact of climate on health, infectious disease and mental health, and the chance to participate in summer volunteering initiatives and receive presentation skills training, so that you can present what you have learnt!
Our summer interns are often motivated to apply for our graduate programme when they have completed their studies.
You can apply if you are:
· a current undergraduate partway through your studies in your first, second or third year of study (for those with an integrated Master’s degree). Unfortunately, you cannot apply if you are in your final year of study.
· available for the entire programme.
· have the right to work in the UK (independent of Wellcome) for the entire period of the internship.
