Job Description

About the role

This is a great opportunity to join a small team of competent, energised, and fun-loving professionals. As a member of the People Team, you will participate in realising the People agenda by supporting the Director in the provision of employee relations and employee engagement initiatives. This is a business-critical role for the Charity. You will manage and develop the employee relations function to ensure that SSAFA is fully equipped to handle workplace concerns through effective interventions.  You will work extensively with all levels to identify opportunities to proactively and preventatively address common employee relations issues through effective employee engagement initiatives including EDI agenda. You will stay attuned to organisational and operational changes to identify potential employee relations risks and develop plans to address them proactively. You will also lead on People projects such as reward and recognition, organisational change and restructuring (including individual and collective consultation processes).

Our small and dedicated team is progressive and diverse, full of ideas to develop and grow the organisation and themselves. The mantra in the team is to be flexible, keeping a growth mindset which also involves having fun together and taking every opportunity to celebrate. There is no room for a dull moment in the People team.

About you

We are looking for an exceptional people’s person, who thrives on making a difference by taking every event as a learning opportunity. You will be a highly grounded and motivated individual, with a track record of success in managing people related activities. You will be a natural communicator with a proven ability to build professional relationships with an aim to develop managers in doing things the right way - in line with policies and procedures and supporting employees to give their best work.
