Job Description
When meeting us, you’ll quickly discover that the best thing about the Association of British Insurers is the people. We’re hugely proud that 98% of our people think individual differences are respected and we are empowered to bring our whole self to work without fear of judgment. We work at the forefront of policy development - helping to get things right before they are implemented and ironing out bumps where they are identified in existing rules. If that sounds like your sort of culture, read on to find out how you can join us.
Our Data & Analytics Team is responsible for the publication of market statistics covering the UK’s insurance and long-term saving sector. These statistics are vital for The ABI in conducting its advocacy work - including evidencing policy recommendations, supporting national media coverage, and ensuring our members can benchmark their performance against the industry. Your role will be to collect, quality check and aggregate market data for the industry, whilst assisting in the production of accompanying presentations and analysis. In addition to this, you will assist with running the Statistics Helpdesk and will answer queries from a range of internal and external stakeholders.
We are open to flexible, part time and/or job share working – please let us know if this would be your preference. We work in a hybrid way with at least 40% of time in the office.
Our team is made up of people who are new to insurance, those who are highly experienced, and everyone in-between, so we welcome people from all industry backgrounds.
What’s the job?
Help colleagues run the quarterly and annual collection of statistics on general and life insurance as well as other ad-hoc data collections.
Commission data requests to ABI members, chase outstanding requests, quality assure the data and resolve data concerns with members, aggregate the data and produce results for inclusion in statistical publications.
Research the insurance and long-term savings industry to gain an insight into trends shown within the data we have.
Help run the Statistics Helpdesk, ensuring written and telephone requests for information from member companies, colleagues and outside enquirers, are answered promptly.
Help run the Statistical Subscription Service, ensuring all subscribers have unhindered access to the data, and running the annual renewal process efficiently and in a manner that will maximise renewals and income.
Ensure statistical information on the ABI website is up to date.
What skills are we looking for?
