Job Description
We are looking to hire our Founding Senior Account Executive. This person should be someone who wants to build both our sales business and our culture. This means you’ll be actively involved in driving and executing on growth targets, while also helping us define and refine our organizational culture.
Who we are
Pyn creates a one-of-a-kind, engaging employee experience by giving employees the messages they need at just the right moment. We do this by providing organizations with tools for targeted, tailored employee communications.
Pyn is backed by Accel (an early investor in Facebook and Slack) and Andreessen Horowitz (an early investor in Airbnb and Okta).
Our co-founders are Jon Williams and Joris Luijke. Jon previously co-founded Culture Amp. Joris helped scale the culture of Atlassian and Squarespace when leading their People function.
You'll report to our VP of Sales, Emma Cahalane, who built Sales teams at Google and launched businesses at Sonder.
We are based in Australia and in the United States, and are quickly growing with customers across the globe, such as Shopify, Carta, Palantir, Stack Overflow and Toast.
Your impact
As a Founding Sales hire, you’ll be responsible for helping define and build out the new customer base Pyn will be working with on a global scale.
Our team prospects new business, pitches and brings onboard all new customers for Pyn. Whether it's reaching out to new prospects, conveying the value of Pyn through a demo, or providing feedback on a contract, we're here to drive the growth of the business.
As a founding team member, you'll work with Emma to define and develop the strategy to drive and execute on our growth strategy. You'll also work closely with our Customer Success and Engineering teams to help shape the product based on your conversations with new customers.
What you'll do
As a founding team lead, you will...
1. Develop and guide strategy:
partner with our Chief of Staff & Growth to define, develop and execute sales strategies in line with overall business objectives while striking a balance between building longer-term strategic relationships, mid-term lead generation and nurturing, as well as quick wins to achieve targets
2. Maximize outbound business potential:
drive opportunities for business growth for Pyn, for SMB and enterprise accounts through building strong relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and aligning goals and solutions to Pyn
ownership of full sales cycle;
identifying revenue growth opportunities; building and maintaining relationships with new business leads, onboarding support to contract signing develop and execute a highly scalable yet personal outbound sales strategy from lead qualification to relationship management.
connect with and influence key customer network relationships through deeply understanding the needs and pain points of the People/HR community
take on feedback from leads in order to better our go-to-market, product features and marketing messaging
3. Build our culture:
help build our growing team by helping with hiring, shaping strategy, and implementing new processes mentor and coach new growth team members
contribute to building a culture of inclusion

While we don't have strict requirements for the role, we are looking for someone with SaaS / Sales development experience in early stage start-ups.
While we have a hybrid work environment, we still love to get together when we can and have time for collaboration. Therefore, we're looking for a team member based in the US (specifically from the Mid to West Coast) to have good overlap with the Australian Eastern timezone.
