We’re looking for an IT Manager to lead the ABI’s IT operations - ensuring our systems and provisions in place are fit for purpose, are up to date with the latest market practices and are robust from a security management perspective.

Please note this is a part-time role working 4 days per week. Our working practices may develop and flex over time, but for the time being we are working in a hybrid way on the basis of at least 40% of our time worked in the office.

What’s the job?

 

  • Lead relationships with third-party suppliers relating to outsourced IT service provision including, but not limited to, Content + Cloud, Core, Softwire, and Softcat.

  • Provide high-level technical advice and consultancy to ABI colleagues and provide expert knowledge to inform the development of IT strategy.

  • Project manage the delivery of IT projects, including upgrades of existing systems and platforms, redesign of existing platforms, and launching new platforms.

  • Work with colleagues to continue the maturity of the Dynamics365 system, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.

  • Provide additional support to the effective running of the AV equipment in the meeting rooms.

  • Be the go-to technical expert for IT issues for colleagues at the ABI, putting them in contact with suppliers or to troubleshoot easy to fix issues, ensuring bugs are triaged to the right teams for resolution.

  • Support work on the ABI website and digital strategy.

  • Ensure the ABI’s IT security is effective, proportionate and appropriate for hybrid ways of working.

  • Organise and deliver any IT training for ABI colleagues, in collaboration with colleagues who are super-users for various IT systems.

What skills do you need?

 

  • IT expertise – you know how to manage multiple outsourced IT providers and can translate technical IT information into plain English.

  • Project management – you can project manage workstreams across multiple departments and leading delivery through others.

  • Organisation – you can manage multiple workstreams and have incredible attention to detail.

  • Communication skills – you manage internal and external relationships effectively and ensure work is delivered.

  • Analytical skills – you think strategically and creatively and see and act on opportunities and risks for the from an IT perspective that have not fully crystallised.
