The Behavioural Insights Team is a social purpose company that collaborates with governments, businesses, and charities to address major policy issues through simple yet powerful changes. With 250 staff across 8 countries, BIT has completed over 1000 projects, including 700 randomized controlled trials, to improve lives and communities. Acquired by Nesta in 2021, BIT continues to share expertise and build capacity in applying behavioural science for social good
Role and Responsibilities: This newly created role is in BIT’s Data team, reporting to the Head of Data Visualisation to support the day-to-day business running of Power BI and the improvement of efficiencies in the business. You will play a crucial role in monitoring data quality, correcting data issues, and supporting the finance team with month-end reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
Data Quality and Maintenance: Monitor reports for data quality, correct data issues, and ensure the main data system is current. Become an expert in using the system and advise users across the business.
Data Integration and Visualization: Use Power BI to connect to various data sources, manipulate data, and display it in an easily digestible format. Perform statistical analysis of data and create understandable reports and visualizations.
Ad-Hoc Data Requests: Handle ad-hoc data requests from around the business, providing support with exports from Power BI or other data systems.
Support Finance Team: Assist with the budgeting process for the finance team using G-Sheets and Power BI, and support month-end reporting by reconciling data between sources.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements for reporting, and work to deliver these reports.
Skills and Experience:
Data Analysis: Strong interest in and passion for data analysis. Proficiency in using tools such as Excel/Google Sheets for data extraction and analysis. Extensive experience with Power BI, including connecting to data sources, manipulating data, and creating visualizations.
Process Improvement: Ability to analyze, prioritize, and redesign business processes to simplify, automate, and reduce workload—experience in planning, implementing, and communicating changes effectively.
Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to explain complex topics in simple terms and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Time Management: Proven ability to manage deadlines and priorities to produce high-quality work within reasonable timeframes.
Teamwork: Experience in collaborating with team members and providing support to ensure successful project outcomes. Ability to manage workload effectively and care about the success and well-being of others.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant field, such as Data Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related discipline.
1-3 years of experience in a data analyst role, focusing on using Power BI (with both M-Query and DAX) for data visualization and analysis.
Ideal Candidates Will Also Have:
Experience working with overseas subsidiaries.
Experience in professional services or consultancy businesses.
