Job Description

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Insight Officer to join the dynamic Insight Team at London Sport.

This exciting role will give you exposure to various London Sport projects and programmes developed in line with our new 2024-2027 strategy, to support Londoners to achieve longer, healthier and happier lives using a mixture of planned and ad-hoc insight support.

Key parts of your role will be to develop local area intelligence, conduct various research projects to develop meaningful insights and stories, and support the Impact, Innovation and Digital and Technology Teams with their impact and innovation work.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Gather and share data, evidence and learning to help London Sport develop knowledge on topics relevant to our mission

  • Support key London Sport teams in building local area intelligence.

  • Work with the Impact Team to provide impact evaluation and learning support.

  • Support the Innovation Team in uncovering insights which can be used to inform and drive the innovation pipeline across the organisation.

  • Apply research methods such as desk research, surveys, online communities, observations, focus groups, interviews and workshops.

  • Analyse data and develop compelling insight-led stories / reports highlighting findings and recommendations.

  • Co-ordinate and support other aspects of data collection (e.g., managing London Sport’s Insight Portal).

  • Undertake other duties as assigned by your line manager and other London Sport staff as appropriate.

Who you are:

  • You have a good understanding of qualitative and quantitative research techniques.

  •  You have good skills in data analysis including the ability to develop, interpret and make sense of data coming from various sources.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills using plain English.

  • You have strong project and time management skills, taking responsibility to prioritise and deliver research-related tasks efficiently and effectively.

  • You are a competent user of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power BI and Tableau to support the delivery of work.

  • You can work independently, but also enjoy working as part of a team developing positive relationships with others.

  • You can proactively address challenges with a solution-focused mindset.

  • You can demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion in relation to London.

  • You have lived experience of day-to-day life in London.

Key Details:

  • Full time fixed-term contract for 2 years but open to part-time or compressed hours.

  • Salary: £28,875 pro rata

  • Offering 28 days’ holiday + 8 public holidays + 5 volunteer days + Christmas Closure

  • Flexible working: we use a model of 2 plus days in our central London office at House of Sport and working from home, with travel required throughout London
