About the role
The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) has an unswerving commitment to high quality, evidence-informed teacher education, and is on a mission to improve the quality of teacher and leader development across the system.
We are recruiting for a Programme Manager ITT, ECF and NPQs to join our Campus team in Birmingham and Bristol. The ITT Programme Manager is responsible for the proactive and effective planning, execution and administration of our ITT, ECF and NPQ programmes within the campuses. The successful candidate will report into our regional Head of ITT, ECF and NPQs and will work closely with their counterparts in our other three regions to ensure that our provision is of consistently high quality. The NIoT will deliver our programmes directly on Campus as well as through our Associate Colleges. The Programme Manager will primarily support our Campus delivery but is expected to support recruitment and AC delivery when required.
This is an exciting opportunity to initially lead all three programmes in the South & West region and work in close collaboration with colleagues nationally. In the summer, we will recruit two additional Programme Managers, and this role will at this point either specialise in ITT or ECF or NPQs. The successful candidate will be a great communicator and problem-solver who enjoys the regular contact and dialogue with our trainees, programme members, partners, tutors and facilitators.
Our Programme Managers will also be supported by administrators as we grow; collectively ensuring that we respond the requests from trainees in a timely manner.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Ensure effective communications with trainees and programme members
Acquire venues, resources and co-ordinate the efforts of facilitators, coaches, placement schools etc, in order to deliver all levels according to plans
Ensure that records are maintained in line with contract/compliance and quality requirements
Engage systematically DfE, Student Loans Company as well as the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IATE) to ensure systems are created and monitored effectively for reporting and auditing purposes
Help improve the quality, precision and simplicity of our materials and resources to support participants in their learning and development
Ensure the digital experience is as seamless as possible and marries with the in person sessions. This requires responsive work to ensure that sign in issues are dealt with effectively and that proactive communication prevents future issues.
Respond to improvement priorities locally or nationally
Ensure effective communications with participants
Ensure tutors, Excellence Fellows and other associates are arranged well in advance to deliver quality to trainees/programme members
Prepare reports on progress, attrition and recruitment for DfE and governance board
Acquire venues, resources and co-ordinate the efforts of facilitators, coaches, placement schools etc, in order to deliver all levels according to plans
Prepare and manage the interim and final reviews of trainees and the subsequent recommendations for QTS and Academic boards.
Work closely with Faculty teams to prepare and deliver the national elements of our programme
Build effective and positive relationships with our Associate Colleges to ensure that delivery is consistent and high quality and that excellent local practice is shared more widely
Provide training on Institute systems, processes and quality standards to Associate Colleges and other partners where required
Communicate changes and developments relating to the programme to Associate Colleges ensuring that they have access to curriculum and administration resources
Represent the campus and Institute at events in a positive and constructive manner
Support the recruitment and onboarding processes to ensure that all candidates have a very positive first impression and transition successfully onto programme from recruitment
Be aware of and comply with policies and procedure relating to health and safety, security and reporting to concerns in accordance with procedures

Qualified Teacher Status
A good understanding of ITT, ECF and NPQs
Previous work experience in Microsoft Teams and Dynamics
A degree and/or professional qualification relevant to the post and/or equivalent learning through professional experience
