The Local Digital team at DLUHC supports councils across England to deliver the local public services of the future – services that meet the needs of citizens and deliver better value for money, based on modern technology and new, collaborative ways of working. We’re building upon the ambition of the Local Digital Declaration – our vision for the future of local public services that has been co-signed by over 280 local councils, sector bodies and Government departments.
We have recently announced exciting next steps for the programme following the increase announced at Budget and Spending Review last year. We have an opportunity to scale our support to the sector over the next 3 years and are growing the product community within the team with the addition of two new Product Manager roles.
Job description
Local Digital Cyber Product Manager
Through our targeted work on cyber security, we’ve been increasing the resilience of local authorities to cyber attack by providing technical support, funding and guidance. We are currently piloting a cyber assessment framework to help councils on their journey to improved security.
The impact of a significant cyber attack can be devastating and limit the ability for a council to deliver key services to citizens for weeks or months. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a team exploring the development of brand new services and the underlying policy that will together help local authorities better understand the cyber risk and identify the actions they need to take to better prepare for, defend and reduce the severity of an attack.
Together with our senior cyber product manager, you will oversee our current cyber support programme, working with an external team of technical experts to ensure our support offering meets user needs and continues to evolve with the changing cyber landscape.
As we develop our cyber assessment framework you will help us define the future strategy, products and services that will support adoption of the framework and help users achieve and sustain the new minimum standard of cyber security.
For this cyber Product Manger role, you will expected to obtain SC clearance once in post.
