Office Manager to the Leaders
The Green Party
- Closing: 10:00am, 9th Sep 2026 BST
Job Description
We are looking for someone to provide high-quality political, strategic, and operational support to the Leader(s), ensuring they are able to carry out their political leadership responsibilities effectively and strategically. You will need senior-level experience and an excellent understanding of the Green Party organisation at local, regional and national level.
You will act as a trusted adviser and key point of coordination within the Leader’s office, combining political judgement and advice with oversight of the Leader’s diary, priorities, relationships, and day-to-day operations.
You will anticipate and identify the Leader’s needs, providing forward planning, advice, and practical support to ensure they have the information, preparation, and capacity required to make effective decisions and pursue the Green Party’s strategic and political objectives. You will exercise a high degree of political judgement and discretion, advising on priorities, opportunities, risks, relationships, and approaches, and making recommendations where appropriate.
This role will oversee the effective functioning of the political and operational office of the Leader, coordinating across staff and teams to ensure priorities are understood, actions are followed through, and the Leader’s time and resources are used effectively. You will manage the Leader’s complex and often competing commitments, acting as a key gatekeeper and first point of contact for those seeking to engage with them, while ensuring that important relationships are maintained.
You will need experience of managing a broad range of complex, sensitive, and politically significant issues, working closely with staff, elected representatives, members, external stakeholders, partners, organisations, and the media. The post holder will operate with a high degree of confidentiality, initiative, and professionalism, and will be expected to make assessments, exercise sound judgement, and determine appropriate courses of action with a high degree of autonomy.
