The Opportunity  

Enerplus is on an exciting journey to become Best in Basin. We are looking for a US Tax Analyst/Accountant to join our Tax team. This position can be located in Calgary or Denver. As a member of this team, you will support the company’s efforts to ensure compliance and determine proper tax treatment of issues. You will also assist with the preparation and review of tax returns and tax provisions for Canada and the United States. A commitment to data integrity and accuracy is critical in this position.  

   

What You Will Do  

  • Prepare and review US corporate income tax returns, including cost and percentage depletion calculations 

  • Assist with gathering information, calculation and documentation of US Research and Development credits 

  • Perform U.S. tax horizon modeling and analysis 

  • Prepare and review quarterly and year-end income tax provisions for U.S.  

  • Perform U.S. earnings and profits calculation  

  • Assist with the company’s transfer pricing documentation 

  • Participate in corporate transactions such as due diligence, structure, document review, financing, closing, post-closing reorganization 

  • Assist with tax authority audits and coordination with various internal departments to obtain audit trail evidence 

  • Research relevant tax laws, regulations, and rulings to determine proper tax treatment of issues 

  

The Requirements    

  • 3-5 years of relevant U.S. corporate income tax experience 

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) 

  

What You Bring  

  • Working knowledge of US tax software. Experience in OneSource or GoSystem is an asset 

  • Advanced Excel skills 

  • A strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills.  

  • Strong verbal and written communication   

  • An affinity for the details: devotion to accuracy and data integrity  

  • The ability to work independently as part of a high-performance team 

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills 

  • The ability to multi-task, meet internal and external deadlines efficiently
