Job Description

The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) is hiring a Senior Digital Communications and Marketing Manager for a newly created role reporting to our Communications Director.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment, making a meaningful impact on environmental and social outcomes.

We're seeking someone passionate about digital and online communications with a strong focus on digital accessibility, user journeys and experiences.

As a member of our digital communications team, you will join a small, friendly team dedicated to producing top-quality content, fostering growth and innovation and to working together to support stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels across the organisation.

In this dynamic role, you will closely collaborate with ICVCM colleagues, including the Board, Expert Panel, external agencies, private sector partners, and funders.

You will work with the Communications Director to design and implement the digital strategy, and work with the wider team and external agencies to carry out the day-to-day management of our channels; and develop and implement improvements to processes.

The ideal candidate is an excellent project manager experienced in handling multiple projects and stakeholders and is skilled in clear and compelling communication. You should have experience in strategic online and digital communications and marketing, gained in-house or at an agency. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and possess a strong understanding of social media, finance, politics, as well as a commitment to advancing the net-zero agenda.

Key duties

·         Leading the development and delivery of creative and strategic digital communications strategies and content across ICVCM’s digital channels

·         Managing our website, day-to-day digital communications and marketing activities, across our online and digital channels

·         Engaging with ICVCM’s communications agency, on paid social media

·         Monitoring and reporting on digital impact and insights and using findings to inform more targeted strategy

·         Producing high quality, well-written and accurate communications content for a range of audiences across our digital channels

·         Leading on the delivery of digital thought leadership, digital content, paid content - providing digital advisory, including expert guidance on trends in the marketplace

·         Building strong relationships with programme and market formation teams – being proactive to understand and deliver ongoing digital communications and marketing needs

·         Building and growing strong relationships with key stakeholders – proactively seeking out and identifying opportunities for engagement and amplification to help achieve our strategic goals

 This is an exciting and fast paced role and as the Integrity Council is a start-up, you must be willing to work flexibly and take on additional duties, as required.

Essential experience

Proven track record in:

·         Developing and delivering digital communications and marketing strategies, plans and campaigns

·         Managing websites, SEO and paid social media campaigns and email marketing

·         Delivering high-quality, high-impact and multi-channel communications campaigns

Desirable Experience

·         B2B marketing and events experience in the environmental / climate world, financial or professional services industry

·         Understanding of carbon and financial markets and knowledge of the key stakeholders relevant to carbon markets

·         Experience of working on international campaigns, or working in European or US markets, would be an advantage

·         Previous experience working with external consultants to create aligned digital campaigns and high-impact outcomes

·         Previous experience running digital communications campaigns across a wide range of stakeholders (i.e., NGOs, finance, policymakers and Indigenous Peoples and local communities)

·         Small business / start-up environments

·         A strong understanding of the importance of digital communications in supporting the delivery of our mission by helping to build strategic alignment across ICVCM and our many stakeholders

·         An ability to successfully deliver impactful digital content within a set budget with an outstanding focus on quality and project follow-through.

·         A strong, independent work ethic

·         Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with partner organisations, senior-level leaders, and influencers

·         Organisational skills including strong capacity to coordinate simultaneous projects and successfully prioritise tasks with sound judgment within a collaborative and fast-paced start-up organisation

·         Creative flair and ability to translate technical content into innovative and engaging content

·         Social media whizz and user experience expert with a thorough understanding of social media best practice, in particular across X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail, with a proven capacity to translate information and big ideas into actionable plans

·         Willingness to participate in both critical thinking and administrative tasks

·         Self-motivated and brings a strong positivity/energy to the team

·         Fluency in English (essential) and proficiency in other languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, Bahasa, Mandarin, and/or Arabic (desirable)
