The Opportunity
The Communications Team is a fast-growing part of Social Finance given significant investment into our communications efforts over the next couple of years. To support and enable this, we are looking for a dedicated Marketing & Events Apprentice. As part of the Comms Team, you will have the resources you need to successfully further our ambitions while developing your skills and experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build your career in Communications and Marketing, working in a dynamic and fast-growing social impact business. You will work closely with the Marketing & Events manager with support from the Digital & Content Manager and Communications Director.
Responsibilities
You will be based within our Central Services team and will focus on providing Marketing & Events support. The role will be varied and challenging; much of your time will be spent supporting the Marketing & Events Manager with a variety of tasks.
General Marketing & Events administration:
Assisting with the implementation of communications plans and events for the various teams and projects at Social Finance
Supporting with marketing and communications materials for the different teams
Working with the Comms team and Communication Leads to chase content and update the content calendar
Supporting with all event logistics – from venue sourcing to production
Assisting with the planning and execution of quarterly organisational offsites and other company-wide events throughout the year such as the Board dinner, Christmas party, summer fun day and Alumni events
Maintaining our external events calendar and researching speaking opportunities at conferences, student/job fairs and sector events to promote Social Finance
Review and report on new marketing and industry trends and innovations
Working with teams to research and maintain a list of possible awards for Social Finance
Internal communications administration:
Supporting the execution of an Internal Comms Strategy
Helping manage the schedule for Monday Morning Meetings & Presentation Brown Bag Lunches
Support with collating impact stories / data from the teams to feed into our Impact Report
Digital & content administration:
Working with the Digital & Content Manager on the social media plan
Sourcing content from the teams for social media
Review and report on new social media and content ideas / trends
Supporting the Digital & Content manager with creating content for social media platforms, such as Social Finance’s Twitter & LinkedIn accounts, website and blog
Any other duties as requested
About You
You will be a pro-active learner with an interest in Marketing & Events and a strong ability to get on with people. You will have excellent written, verbal communication and planning skills with a high attention to detail. You will be passionate and motivated by social impact and the role of communications in delivering lasting change.
Working at Social Finance
The fixed salary for this position is £21,000 per annum. We offer a generous holiday allowance plus bank holidays and corporate leave between Christmas and New Year when the office is closed.
