Job Description
Little Moons are frozen and chilled mochi, a fusion of Eastern and Western cuisine - soft and chewy rice flour dough wrapped around balls of ice cream, cheesecake, or chocolate ganache to create a distinctive, bite-sized, and delicious snack that’s bursting with flavour.
Their rollout across Europe has been pioneered by sister and brother duo Vivien and Howard Wong, who founded Little Moons in 2010. The product’s roots are in high-end restaurants, but over the last five years retail packs have swept the ice cream category in grocery and food service.
Little Moons has rapidly established mochi, and snacking ice cream, across Europe. In 2024 we generated more than £60m revenue, and in 2025 we continue to drive towards double digit growth.
We are very proud of the culture that we have built at Little Moons. Not to stroke our own egos, but we are a great bunch of people—smart, passionate, interesting, and funny—who work hard to support and live our values, all the while keeping our mission in our forethoughts.
The Role:
We are on the lookout for a brilliant Senior Category Manager to help shape and grow our business by turning data into action, building strong retailer relationships, and pioneering the growth of frozen and chilled snacking through best-in-class category leadership.
This is a high-impact, insight-led role that will see you working across multiple markets, including the UK and Australia, and with major retailers like Morrisons, Asda, Co-op, Woolworths and Coles. You’ll be the go-to expert in frozen snacking, using your commercial acumen and storytelling skills to influence decisions and drive growth.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on turning insight into impact. You’ll be a strategic thinker with a commercial mindset, someone who’s naturally curious and proactive. Always spotting opportunities and finding smart solutions, even when the data is complex or incomplete.
You’ll bring high emotional intelligence and strong influencing skills, building trust and followership across teams and with retail partners.
If you enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-performing environment where ambition is matched by collaboration and support, and you’re excited by the chance to shape a category and make a real impact across multiple markets, this could be the perfect next step for you.
What you’ll be doing:
Setting the Category Direction
You’ll use insight and instinct to spot opportunities, define where the category is heading, and help us and our customers get there first.
You’ll be a thought leader in developing, shaping and evolving our category story that’s then applied across the 38+ markets in which we currently operate.
You’ll shape and deliver category strategies for Morrisons, Asda, and Co-op in the UK, and Woolworths and Coles in Australia.
Planning for Growth (with Insight at the Heart)
You’ll dig into data from Nielsen, Kantar, loyalty cards and ad-hoc research studies to uncover what’s working, what’s not, and where the next big win might be.
You’ll turn those insights into clear, practical plans that drive growth for both us and our retail partners.
Partnering with Retailers
You’ll be the go-to frozen snacking category expert for our UK and Australian retailers, building strong, ‘high touch’ relationships and delivering compelling stories that influence decisions.
You’ll build both depth and breadth in your interactions with retailers, becoming a trusted voice for merchandising teams, trading teams and beyond.
You’ll support the sales team with insight-led recommendations and help shape joint business plans.
Working Across Teams and Markets
You’ll collaborate with commercial, brand and innovation teams to make sure category thinking is embedded in everything we do.
While you’ll become a category expert in the UK and Australia, you’ll also support other markets and customers when needed, sharing your expertise and helping to raise the bar globally.
Bringing Commercial Thinking
You’ll keep a close eye on performance, helping the business make smart, data-backed decisions.
You’ll spot risks and opportunities early, developing plans to mitigate or realise them with your commercial colleagues.
Being a Leader in Data Capability
You’ll act as a leader in developing business-wide market data capability, helping us choose the right tools, build confidence in using them, and make sure we’re getting the most from our data.
You’ll be the go-to person for platforms like NielsenIQ and Power BI, and you’ll help streamline how we report and share insights.
About you:
Proven experience in FMCG category management at a Senior level - ideally in food
Experience working with UK grocery retailers is essential; experience with Australian retailers is a bonus
A knack for turning data into stories that influence and inspire, and a track record of turning category thought leadership into commercial results
A problem solver who can find solutions to complex category problems whether being equipped with little or lots of data
Confident working with EPOS, shopper panel and loyalty card data
A natural leader and collaborator who builds followership (both internally and with our partners) through excellent thinking and high EQ
Commercially sharp, with a strong sense of what drives performance
Curious, proactive and excited to bring your expertise to a fast-paced, high-performing team and a business that’s extremely ambitious
