Historic England have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Graphic Designer.

This is a Full Time, Permanent position.

The location of this role is National where we offer hybrid working, you will be based in one of our following offices and from home - Newcastle, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth (Fort Cumberland) and Cambridge. 

Salary

National: £31,361 pro-rata

Greater London+: £34,690 pro-rata

What you will be doing

Historic England is looking for a passionate new Graphic Designer to join our Marketing team. The role will help to raise the profile of Historic England through delivering exceptional graphics and design and ensuring all outputs are represented to the highest standards.  

The role forms part of our small but dynamic design function. It offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the outputs of Historic England, whilst working with the support and expertise of our high-performing Marketing team. 

In this role, you will support the creative delivery of the Historic England visual brand, confidently producing inspiring, creative and impactful graphics and design. You will help ensure we connect with our audiences and stakeholders using the right creative graphics and design across all platforms to inspire people to understand, enjoy and look after England's spectacular historic environment.

Who we are looking for

  • Proven graphic design experience within a high profile or innovative brand

  • Strong creative thinking with ability to generate original creative concepts that align with brand guidelines

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards in design, how to apply them and how to coach others in adopting them

  • Collaborative approach to working and sharing knowledge with a range of stakeholders

  • Clear and persuasive communication skills

  • Positive attitude, committed, enthusiastic and conscientious

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit a portfolio of their work. Requested by 06th May for submission by 08th May 2025.

Following this any candidates invited for interview will be asked to complete a test exercise which will be sent on 14th May.
