ABOUT THE TEAM

The Partnerships Directorate at UNICEF UK encompasses the Corporate Partnerships and Foundation Partnerships teams. The Foundation Partnerships team seeks to build long-term relationships with private, institutional, and statutory funders, in line with UNICEF UK’s organisational fundraising strategy. The Foundation Partnerships team has ambitious growth targets over the next five years and this role will play a key part in enabling the team to achieve even greater results for children.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary focus of this role is to maximise income and support for UNICEF UK through building and managing relationships with trusts and foundations. Key to your success will be the ability to proactively identify, cultivate, convert, and steward partnerships with trusts and foundations at the five and six-figure level.

What we will expect you to achieve:

  • Research, engage and build relationships with trust and foundation prospects to maximise income and support for UNICEF’s work internationally and in the UK.

  • Support the Private and Institutional Funding Leads, as well as the Head of Foundation Partnerships, on existing major strategic funding partnerships, as required.

  • Develop face-to-face relationships with key donors and prospects – proactively coordinating outreach, including meetings and requests for financial support at the right time.

  • Build a personal network of donor and prospect contacts, including by identifying and attending relevant events.

  • Provide all donors and prospects with the highest level of supporter care, such as through providing regular, high-quality communications about the work that they have supported or may support, as well as information about UNICEF’s campaigns, priorities, and emergency response. Where relevant, organise or accompany donors and prospects on programme visits to see UNICEF’s work at first hand.

  • Support the development of team plans and budgets. Monitor, evaluate and report against any agreed targets as required.

  • Develop relationships with UNICEF UK’s Trustees, Vice Presidents, Ambassadors, senior staff, and other relevant supporters, involving them in relationships and approaches, as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for donors and prospects on UNICEF UK’s database and team filing system, in accordance with data protection requirements.

  • Demonstrate and model a commitment to our shared values, behaviours and inclusive practices (known as Our Shared Commitment) in all aspects of your work.
