Job Description
Summary of Role
The HR Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to our HR team regarding human resources activities, processes, and procedures. We are looking for someone who is in Canada and highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to our HR Manager such as data entry, scheduling meetings, filing etc.
Assist with Onboarding and Offboarding processes
Maintain responsibility for entry, maintenance, and integrity of data in our ADP and NetSuite systems
Assist with various projects as requested by HR Manager
Assist in occasional planning of special HR-related meetings and events
Ensure that files and records are kept neat and orderly at all times, including general digital filing.
Update employee information on ADP / NetSuite systems
Follow Canada’s and US’ HR policies as directed by the HR Manager to ensure legal compliance
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Keep all HR matters confidential at all times
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Must be knowledgeable of Canada’s HR principles and federal/local regulations
Preferred: Knowledgeable of US’s HR principles and federal/local regulations
Previous Human Resources or Office Management experience required
Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing or Human Resources is preferred
Enrolled in Human Resources, Business, or relevant program is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer-service oriented - Friendly, outgoing, and able to work well with others – a team player.
Detailed oriented, highly organized, critical thinker, and able to prioritize.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
Ability to work independently with little supervision required, and strong work ethic.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extraordinary discretion related to sensitive company and employee information.
Comfortable taking initiative to independently manage your own projects and time
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook is essential
Quick learner and passionate about learning new things
Valid Canada driver’s license is desirable.
