Role outline
The Financial Inclusion Senior Manager (Income Maximisation) is responsible for working with food banks and regional teams to deliver high quality and sustainable face to face income maximisation services across the UK Trussell Trust network. The postholder will utilise financial inclusion programme data and insight, sector evidence and their subject matter expertise to inform the design of a range of service models and investment requirements, delivering significant impact for people experiencing poverty across the UK. The role will support food banks to develop cost effective, targeted and high impact services reflecting local conditions and requirements. The post will work closely with key teams across the organisation to ensure long term impact and sustainability of the income maximisation services, whilst providing the evidence and insight to support the influencing and campaigning priorities of PEAR. The role will be responsible for leading national partnerships with key strategic partners to drive high quality provision across the network, along with the roll out of e-referral across the food bank network
Responsibilities
Work with the Head of Financial Inclusion Programmes, and support the Director of Operations and Chief Operating Officer, to lead the successful delivery of locally delivered income maximisation services working across the Trussell Trust, key partner organisations, and local and national stakeholders.
Act as the primary operational liaison and develop professional relationships with key strategic national and local partner organisations and ensure effective communications to both operational colleagues and food banks, to maintain awareness and sustained buy-in for financial inclusion partnerships.
Support food banks and regional teams to pilot and implementation specialist advice provision across the network. This includes leading design of a range of service models, utilised by food banks in accordance with local need and reporting requirements, and support with advice specifications, role profiles, grant agreements and governance to drive high quality advice and deliver maximise impact.
Work with Data & Insight Manager to develop comprehensive evidence and insight on service performance (including consistent reporting requirements), to drive service improvement and optimisation, ensuring access to high quality income maximisation and other social welfare law advice for people in crisis and help meet the evidence requirements and support the priorities of PEAR colleagues.
Deliver a comprehensive programme of service improvement activity including service reviews to strengthen service performance and maximise future funding potential.
Work with Head of Financial Inclusion Programmes, Regional teams and food banks to ensure compatibility and alignment between national services and locally delivered financial inclusion initiatives.
Collaborate with colleagues across the Operations Directorate and cross departmentally, to implement the set-up and roll-out of pathfinders, pilot projects and agreed programmes.
Work with Fundraising colleagues to ensure sustainability of helpline services, including reporting requirements and wider engagement with Trusts/donors as required.
Monitor progress against projects’ agreed OKRs and ensure delivery of programme reporting; review OKRs on a rolling basis, to ensure the impact of programmes is collated and reported as required (with particular reference to Programme Boards).
Keep abreast of external trends and issues through professional networks including external organisations that will be relevant to the role and projects which support it.
To provide insight and subject matter expertise to support the work of the Financial Inclusion team and other teams across the Trussell Trust in implementation our organisational strategy.
Utilise mechanisms including consultation and advisory boards to ensure the voice of all stakeholders is reflected in project approaches, roll out and outcomes.
Represent the Trussell Trust internally and externally reflecting its values and vision.
Participate in regular 1:1s and annual reviews, contributing to the identification of objectives and targets, and monitoring of progress towards them
Develop a culture of innovation, resourcefulness and best practice to make the best use of time and skills across the team.
Promote collaborative and flexible working across the Operations Directorate and the wider Trust.
Any other reasonable duties as specified by the line manager to support the work of the Trust.
