The Newton Fellowship Program is a 9-month program designed to supercharge your technical knowledge, elevate your leadership capability and expand your global network. If you have 3-5 years of venture capital or closely aligned experience under your belt and are looking to get to the next level in your career, this program is for you.

Join us to build on your investing skills, elevate your learning beyond concepts, and gain access to a diversity of thought and experience from your peers, faculty, and practitioners.

Key information

• Applications are open between Monday, 13 July 2026 and Monday, 7 September 2026.

• Virtual Q&A Session on Friday, 7 August 2026 at 12:00 pm UK time.

• There will be a drop-in chat on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, during the final week of applications.

• Some applicants may be asked to join a 20-30 minute interview between Thursday, 1 October 2026 and Friday, 30 October 2026.

• Successful applicants will be informed during the week commencing Monday, 2 November 2026.

• Scholarship Applications are separate from this application and must also be completed by Monday, 7 September 2026 (the program application deadline).

• Payments are due in full by Friday, 15 January 2027, to secure your place. Advanced planning for your Newton Fellowship payment is strongly encouraged to avoid any last-minute challenges.

The Newton Fellowship combines two critical aspects of growing as a leader in the venture ecosystem:

(a) Building technical knowledge of venture capital by delving into the above curriculum designed for emerging leaders.

(b) Developing your leadership skills through participating in small group coaching and creating your personalised Fellow’s Vision. Your Fellow’s Vision captures how you want to shape the venture ecosystem. It will be your capstone deliverable for the Newton Fellowship.

What we’re looking for

The Newton Fellowship Program attracts professionals from around the world, with over 30 nationalities represented in previous cohorts. It's ideal for senior associates and principals, junior partners, aspiring emerging fund managers, new general partners, experienced entrepreneurs and operators with significant exposure to venture capital, and deep subject matter experts such as tech transfer officers.

Whilst we want each cohort to represent the richness of the venture ecosystem, our Fellowship Program is designed for those with a fundamental understanding of venture capital.

As a Newton Fellow, you are expected to:

• Prioritise the time and energy needed to fully immerse yourself in the three modules and additional virtual sessions spread over nine months.

• Participate with commitment in both solo and group activities, and be a contributor in interactive sessions.

• Complete intermodular activities and exercises, which are critical for both your learning and that of your peers.

• Go on to become an engaged member of the global Newton Alumni community.

We’re looking for applicants with an interest and motivation to make a long-term contribution to the venture capital ecosystem. We’re particularly keen to hear from you if you are an applicant from an overlooked and underestimated background in VC. 

Please note: The Fellowship program is aimed at those with minimum 3 years of experience as an investor working at an investment firm or technology transfer office OR minimum 5 years of experience working in the startup ecosystem, as a founder or operator, with significant exposure to venture capital.

Program details

• Welcome session and official program start date: Friday, 19 February 2027, 12:00 pm UK time

• Module 1 dates: Wednesday 14 April to Friday 16 April 2027

• Module 2 dates: Wednesday, 14 July - Friday, 16 July 2027

• Module 3 dates: Wednesday 13 October - Friday 15 October 2027 (Dates and locations are subject to change)

• Additional virtual programming: Throughout the nine-month program, Fellows will take part in virtual sessions including the Principles of Networking series, Leadership Series, coaching, Meet the Leader sessions and other learning opportunities. These sessions generally last 1-2 hours and are designed to enhance your learning between in-person modules.

• Program cost is £9,950 + VAT. 

• In the lead up to each module, there will be 8-10 hours of mandatory pre-work (reading or exercises) to support the content and delivery of the in-person modules.
