Summary of Role
Anthesis offers a wide range of strategic technical analytics services across the UK and internationally, focusing on innovation and delivery of real business value. We are seeking a Senior Energy Analyst to join our Global Centre of Excellence for Energy Analytics and provide the data, calculations, analyses and associated consultancy which underpin our clients’ sustainability activity.
This is a delivery and project management role engaging directly with the market to support major sustainability projects to our clients. It will involve collaborating with global Anthesis sustainability experts and with other Technical Consultants not only to deliver great projects but also to support in developing new innovative ways of supporting our clients’ sustainability journey.
Anthesis focuses on driving maximum sustainable impact by our clients, many of which are major blue-chip companies such as Reckitt Benckiser, LEGO, PepsiCo, Nestle and Salesforce. You will have the opportunity to own projects in areas such as individual, portfolio, sectoral, local, regional and national energy analysis for the private and public sector. From applying robust statistical and analytical techniques you will be working with engineers to identify commercially deliverable energy efficiency, low carbon energy production and socially valuable packages of works across built assets and infrastructure. This includes novel forms of heat production such as heat pumps, hydrogen and district heating, as well as energy vector transformations, for example electrification of catering and transportation loads. You will be supported by a large team of experts both in the UK and across our global analytics teams.

Key Responsibilities
Delivering business value to our clients and effectively communicating key sustainability messages
· Performing energy, carbon and financial analysis for wide-ranging projects
· Processing of extensive data sets, analysis of quality and automated cleansing and refining of these
· Performing detailed calculations to understand energy flows, greenhouse gas emissions (CO2, NOX and other regulated gases, e.g. F-gases), and other environmental, economic and social metrics (e.g. social NPV), as may be required
· Calling APIs to retrieve high quality datasets in the public and private sectors
· Adhering with Data protection requirements
· Automating data flows
· Presenting results in visually attractive formats or interactive outputs
· Supervising, Working and networking with other Data Analysts and software developers within Anthesis across the globe
You will be writing technical reports, drawing on expertise from across the wider team and rest of the business.
Undertaking technical research and results dissemination
Undertake responsibility for best practice quality assurance
Write proposals for new business, in collaboration with the existing team
Attend client meetings, where necessary, for development of opportunities and project delivery.
Manage multiple projects with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines.
Learn and develop your technical expertise, supported by our technical directors across the sustainability teams as well as mentor more junior analysts including providing line management and training where necessary.
Skills
Excellent analytical skills applying various analytical software. We would expect advanced competency in Microsoft Excel and experience in using other analytics software including. Python and visualisation tools will be beneficial.
3- 5-years’ experience in delivering complex analytical projects
Demonstrable client management skills
Strong communication and consulting skills; particularly an understanding of the sustainability problems that organisations face in today’s climate.
Excellent project management skills: ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and to client expectations
Personal Attributes and Qualities
Previous background or passion for sustainability preferred;
Curious, globally minded and enthusiastic;
Effective time management and organisational skills. Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment;
Work well with a wide range of people on a global basis;
Proactive with the ability and confidence to use initiative;
Desirable Experience

· Demonstrable Entrepreneurial skills
· Python experience with the following, or equivalent libraries:
o Data Processing (Pandas, Numpy, ScikitLearn)
o Requests for API calling (Matplotlib, Seaborn)
o Graph plotting (Pyplot)
o Web scraping (Beautiful Soup, Selenium)
· Project management software skills: ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and to client expectations, for example:
o Experience with MS Project
o Agile software development
· Experience using analytical or energy analytics software. Examples used within energy analytics/accessible within Anthesis include:

· Experience of Statistical techniques including:

· Engineering experience in:

· Experience in technical drawing and modelling
