Job Description

Job Purpose

• To run a series of flagship events that raise money for BBOWT and increase the recognition of what we do and why our work is vital.

• To build innovation into BBOWT’s programme of events.

• To co-work with other teams within the organisation to deliver their events programmes.

• Working with the community team to develop new types of campaigns /community activities

Reporting Line

The post holder reports to the Events Manager.

Line Management

This post has no line reports.

Key Tasks

• Keeping track and monitoring the events budget alongside the Events Manager.

• Coordinating an innovative and inspiring events programme (both in person and on-line), that engages with a wide range of audiences.

• Supporting specific Corporate events with key strategic Corporate partners, such as employee volunteering.

• Advising other teams in the delivery of specific events. This includes launch events for new activities or campaigns.

• Taking ownership of key events, and working with departments across the organisation, and the wider community to deliver these.

• Event delivery, including ensuring all materials and equipment needed for events are transported and set up.

• Keeping our events programme up to date on appropriate digital platforms.

• Keeping updated with evolving event technology.

• Adhering to all of the organisations policies, procedures and systems.

• Representing the organisation in a professional manner.

• Acting at all times in a manner which will not damage our reputation.

• Ensuring that all health and safety obligations are met in all aspects of the role.

• Providing regular reports as needed.

• Engendering a culture of membership recruitment within the team.

• Any other duties as delegated by the Chief Executive or management line.

Person Specification

• Event management skills

• Excellent project management, and verbal and written communication skills

• Self-motivated with the ability to work to deadlines and targets

• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, advanced Excel, and event management systems

• Ability and willingness to demonstrate our behaviours and values

• Current UK valid car driving licence

Measurements of Success

• New types of event in place that meet the needs of our Strategic Plan.

• All of our events are run to a consistently high standard.

• High levels of audience engagement with our events programme.

• Minimal supervision needed in managing the organisations events.
