Job Description
This is a senior delivery role with global, end-to-end accountability for turning approved portfolio priorities, product concepts, course outlines, tenders and complex client briefs into high-quality learning solutions that are commercially deliverable and scalable.
The successful candidate will lead production and delivery across digital, live, virtual, blended and customised learning. Working through matrix teams, you will establish the delivery approach, set priorities, direct contributors, control scope and quality, manage risk and dependencies, and make evidence-based readiness decisions within agreed strategy, contractual commitments and delegated authority.
The role works at the intersection of product ownership, subject matter expertise, instructional design, technology, operations, legal and commercial teams. It is accountable not only for delivering the right solution, on time and to the required standard, but also for strengthening PRI Academy’s ability to deliver consistently at scale.
This position is offered on a fixed-term basis until March 2028.
Core Responsibilities
Lead global learning production and portfolio delivery
Own end-to-end production workflows across free and paid learning products, from source preparation and SME input through content development, assessment, build, testing and launch.
Turn approved priorities into clear production plans, milestones, resource assumptions, governance points and handovers.
Set and manage priorities across multiple interdependent workstreams, making trade-offs within delegated authority and escalating decisions that affect strategy, investment or the commercial proposition.
Maintain a portfolio-level view of capacity, status, risk, dependencies and decisions, and hold contributors to agreed outputs and standards.
Own learning design, assessment and content governance
Define learning outcomes, course blueprints, assessment structures, pass standards and evidence requirements for professional and practitioner-level learning.
Create and quality-assure valid, fair and appropriately challenging assessments that test meaningful judgement and application.
Lead SME review cycles, resolve conflicting feedback and protect approved structure, technical integrity, learner value and delivery timescales.
Provide instructional designers and delivery partners with clear, build-ready briefs and determine whether outputs meet the required depth, coherence, accessibility and practitioner relevance.
Control quality and launch readiness
Establish quality controls across learner-facing content, assessments, media, learning platforms and implementation materials.
Lead user acceptance and stakeholder testing, prioritise defects and drive resolution across content, design, technology and operations.
Make evidence-based readiness recommendations and prevent release where material risks remain unresolved.
Use learner feedback, assessment performance and operational evidence to prioritise maintenance and continuous improvement.
Lead customised and commercial delivery
Partner with Business Development and Sales on tenders and complex proposals, shaping credible delivery methodologies, workplans, cost inputs, implementation plans and quality controls.
Advise on pricing and feasibility by identifying the people, specialist input, technology, localisation, production effort and risk allowances required for successful delivery.
Own the production and operational delivery of commissioned courses, translations, webinars, events and blended programmes from confirmed scope through implementation and close-out.
Control scope, assumptions and change requests, making delivery, cost and contribution-margin implications visible before commitments change.
Provide matrix leadership and improve how we deliver
Lead cross-functional contributors and external partners without relying on formal line authority, setting clear roles, priorities, decision points, standards and deadlines.
Address slippage and quality concerns directly, facilitate decisions across different professional perspectives and communicate clearly with senior leaders, clients, specialists and delivery teams.
Improve workflows, controls, templates, source libraries and handovers so delivery becomes more predictable, efficient and scalable.
Use approved AI-enabled tools responsibly to support planning, drafting, comparison and quality assurance, with source grounding, traceability and human accountability.
Provide robust, evidence-based recommendations to shape strategy and portfolio planning, while supporting the Head of Product & Operations in their accountability for investment and prioritisation decisions.
Person Specification
We are looking for an experienced learning-production and delivery leader who combines strong learning and assessment judgement with commercial awareness, operational discipline and the confidence to lead through influence.
Significant experience in learning-product production, qualification and assessment development, complex programme delivery or a closely related field, with clear evidence of operating at a senior level.
Deep practical understanding of learning outcomes, assessment validity, question design, pass standards and learner evidence requirements, particularly for online self-paced learning.
A strong record of taking end-to-end accountability for multiple complex and interdependent workstreams, including priorities, capacity, risk, dependencies, quality and fixed commitments.
Experience leading matrix teams, setting expectations and priorities, allocating work, reviewing outputs and addressing delivery concerns without formal line authority.
Experience delivering customised, client-facing or partner-facing learning solutions, ideally across digital, live or virtual delivery, localisation and implementation.
Experience contributing to tenders or complex proposals through credible methodologies, resource and cost assumptions, timelines, quality controls and implementation plans.
Commercial judgement to advise on delivery pricing, identify the implications of scope change, protect agreed cost and contribution-margin assumptions, and challenge unworkable commitments.
The judgement to make sound independent decisions within delegated authority and recognise when contractual, risk, pricing, investment, proposition or strategic decisions require escalation.
Credibility with senior stakeholders, clients, SMEs, instructional designers, technology teams and other specialists, with the ability to turn ambiguity into clear decisions and executable plans.
Excellent written communication and quality judgement, with the ability to structure and review practitioner-level content and maintain consistent depth, tone and terminology.
Strong problem-solving and continuous-improvement capability, including root-cause analysis, piloting, evaluation and embedding scalable ways of working.
Confidence using digital collaboration and approved AI-enabled tools to improve productivity while maintaining traceability, human review and quality control.
Desirable skills and experience
Experience with learning management systems and digital authoring tools such as Articulate Rise or Storyline.
Experience in responsible investment, financial services, sustainable finance, professional bodies, qualifications or regulated learning environments.
Experience maintaining content and assessment banks, learner artefacts or qualification documentation.
Knowledge of accessibility, plain-English principles, digital-learning quality assurance and user acceptance testing.
Experience of translation and localisation, webinar or event production, learning-technology projects, procurement or operationally complex global delivery.
We particularly welcome candidates from under-represented groups, including Black, Asian, and other People of Colour, those with visible or non-visible disabilities, LGBTQ+ candidates and those who are neurodivergent.
N.B. We reserve the right to close a vacancy before the closing date in the event of an overwhelming response or a change in business priorities.
