About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a community midwife to join our friendly, established community health team. We are a busy service with a diverse caseload working with service families and children in Cyprus.

We are looking for a confident, innovative, NMC registered Midwife with excellent communication skills who is prepared to work flexibly to meet service needs.  You will be required to work in conjunction with the consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist who are contracted to provide secondary care as well as the medical officers and GPs, members of the SSAFA Community Health Care Team, and voluntary agencies in your local area.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering a high standard of Midwifery care on a rotational basis in order to provide 24hour cover.

You will be offered opportunities to develop both clinically and professionally within a supportive environment and encouraged to participate in service developments. Supervision and a comprehensive, supportive induction period are provided. The role offers you the opportunity to experience the joy of providing care throughout the pregnancy continuum, benefiting from continuous care with your own caseload of patients.

About the team

You will be a member of the SSAFA Community Health Team, working alongside Health Visitors, School Nurses, School Nurses, Community Children’s Nurses, CAMHS, Dietitian, Speech Therapists. You will be expected to work in collaboration with Midwives based in localities across Cyprus.

The SSAFA Community Health Team work collaboratively with Primary Health care, the designated Secondary Health care provider, Social Care and Welfare agencies.

This role offers the opportunity to work flexibly and remotely on occasions, with prior agreement from your Locality Team Leader.

About you

To carry out the role successfully you will be a registered midwife with the NMC.

You will be able to manage and prioritise a caseload successfully, have good time management skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and be committed to personal development. You will have a good working knowledge of safeguarding children. A valid driving license is essential.

All staff are required to be committed to safeguarding children and adults in conjunction with the local safeguarding children’s board.
