We're looking for a talented embedded engineer to join our growing team on a full-time basis.

XY Sense leverages cutting-edge technologies including deep learning and low power embedded technology. What we are building is world-first and requires an engineer who loves a challenge.

You will work on the design and development of embedded software and hardware for our world-class AI space utilization sensors.

In this role you will:

• Take ownership of designing and building our embedded software

• Prototype and debug embedded versions to test different options

• Optimize the embedded software for low power and efficient execution (high level of hardware integration)

• Assist with hardware reviews and discussions

• Work closely with the rest of the product team to gain a deep understanding of our vision and goals

Requirements

To succeed in this role you will need to have:

• Skills in embedded C/C++ and general programming methodologies

• Proven experience in developing software for low power embedded systems

• Experience with microcontrollers and ARM Cortex-Mx devices

• Experience in implementing communication protocols

• Experience in electronic circuit design

• Debugging skills

• The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team

Experience in the following is a plus

• Low powered RF communication protocols such as LoRa, the Bluetooth stack and any others

• Xilinx SoC development

• Programming in Python

• Embedded Linux

• Using source control (particularly Git)

• Deep learning in general or with embedded systems

• Worked with other vision chips, e.g. Movidius, Ceva XM4
