CIL Management Consultants
- Closing: 10:15am, 22nd Mar 2022 GMT
Job Description
Do you have recruiting experience within the professional services industry? Are you interested in playing a key growth role within a friendly, award-winning boutique management consultancy? If so, then a career at CIL Management Consultants as our Talent Acquisition Manager may well be for you.
CIL is a consulting firm with a market-leading position within our niche. Most of our engagements involve an M&A element, primarily to advise mid-market private equity firms who are looking to invest in high growth businesses in the UK, US and Europe. Our aim is to be the best consultancy to work for in our field, and we pride ourselves on being socially very equal, likely and inclusive. There are no corner offices, no cliques – we work in open-plan offices and are not political. We think ‘a culture’ is something larger firms have to invent. Ours is the product of the people we employ.
The role
Team structure & reporting lines
This newly created role sits within the CIL HR team and reports into our Recruitment Manager (who is responsible for all aspects of our recruitment globally). They would be supported by our UK-based Recruitment Co-ordinator, with local recruitment support in both our Chicago & Munich offices.
Core responsibilities
This role has primary responsibility for our experienced consultant recruitment processes across the group (currently ~20 hires per year, but expected to grow), with a particular focus on supporting our international offices (Chicago and Munich).
Leading the strategy, marketing & outreach activities aimed at attracting experienced hire candidates, both through direct reach outs and more passive activity.
Managing key recruiter agency relationships.
Ensuring candidates have a first-class experience through the recruitment process lifecycle.
Leading interviews (both competency-based and technical) at different stages of the experienced hire process.
Working with the Recruitment Manager to refine and update our experienced hire assessment materials.
Supporting relevant stakeholders to establish more predictable / scalable experienced hire programmes (e.g. post-MBA hires, post-audit qualification hires).
Supporting with ad hoc non-consulting recruitment processes (i.e. for operations team) as needed.
Mentoring and supporting our fledgling local recruitment teams in our international offices.
Input into remuneration and overall package benchmarking.
Taking part in broader CIL activities – we encourage all of the team to get involved in things outside of the ‘day job’.
Career progression
CIL has exciting expansion plans which provide much of the basis for career growth in this role. At the moment our priorities are around establishing scalable experienced hire processes in all three of our geographies; as we potentially open up new offices, the focus of this could change and a new challenge will be right around the corner.
What CIL people are like
We have a team of ~150 highly qualified, highly skilled people across our four offices. Successful CIL people share some key attributes:
Strong academic background (we are degree agnostic) from a top university.
A ‘growth mindset’ when it comes to problem solving.
Motivation and ambition, able to stand on their own two feet.
Strong team working and people skills.
Outstanding numeracy, written and verbal communication skills.
Humility and quiet self-confidence – we are not an ‘alpha’ environment.
A keen sense of humour and broad shoulders.
Salary and benefits
Competitive base salary and participation in our generous company bonus scheme.
25 days’ holiday entitlement with option to purchase five additional days each year.
Flexible working options with the potential to work from home.
Option to join company private healthcare scheme through Vitality.
Matched pension contributions of 4.5%.
Life assurance and long-term sick cover.
Enhanced parental leave & pay policies.
Support to undertake training relevant to your role.
Regular company events & socials.
A fantastic company culture, with encouragement to pursue activities & interests outside of work.
Qualification criteria
We have strict qualification criteria for this role. These are:
2.i or higher undergraduate degree from university, any discipline.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for meeting and vetting potential candidates.
Ability to carry out both competency-based and technical interviews.
Some knowledge of the strategy consulting industry, and interest in supporting the development of a fast-growing boutique consulting business, both at an operational and strategic level.
Completely fluent written and spoken English – other languages an advantage.
At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK.
Familiarity with recruiting in the US and / or Germany is an advantage, but not essential.
We would be particularly interested in applicants with 1-3 years’ experience in a professional services recruitment role. However, we strongly encourage any applicant to apply if they feel they meet the criteria set out above, regardless of the current amount of experience that they hold.
