Job location: Calgary, Alberta or Denver, Colorado 

Shift schedule: 5 days/week (Monday – Friday), 8 hours/day

Our Opportunity: 

 We are hiring a Technical Solutions Analyst in our Digital Technology team. This position can be based in our Calgary, Alberta office or Denver, Colorado office and will report to the Team Lead, Application Support. This role will provide Tier 2 level application and integration support for oil and gas software solutions supporting our Finance, People and Culture (HR), and Corporate Properties teams.  We’re looking for someone who enjoys adapting to the rapidly changing digital world and can work closely with business analysts to design and create digital solutions for our stakeholders that align with their digitization strategies. A strong customer service background, troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills, and technical aptitude in SQL are critical to success in this role. Programming skills and understanding underlying infrastructure and deployment methods are not required but would be beneficial.  

 

 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of applications, system performance, processes, and databases 

  • Tracing and query data issues using SQL, SSMS, SSAS, and Snowflake data warehouse 

  • Application evaluation, architecture design, and review 

  • Resolve end-user requests within SLA's (service-level agreements) and ensure interactions result in high customer satisfaction 

  • Coordinate technical resources to assist with resolving incidents when escalation is required. 

  • Vendor management: working with vendors on contracts, licenses, and issue resolution 

  • Create and maintain technical documentation 

  • Staying informed about emerging digital technologies and applications in the market. 

 

 

What you bring to the role: 

  • Minimum of three years experience supporting enterprise Oil and Gas applications, including on-premises and cloud support, installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, troubleshooting, testing, and decommissioning. 

  • Preference will go to candidates with more profound experience in financial applications or document management systems.  

  • Understanding and practice of ITIL methodologies 

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management tools 

  • Intermediate understanding required to troubleshoot reporting and visualization solutions created with Power BI, Tableau, and SSRS
