Content Manager - WorkForClimate

The Sunrise Project is searching for an experienced Content Manager to join our WorkForClimate team, supporting our objective of accelerating the global corporate transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

About you

You will have experience in a communications, journalism or content role, with specialist or expert knowledge of corporate sustainability and climate impacts. You will have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build successful relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. You are an expert communicator, with a proven ability to effectively deliver compelling content to a variety of audiences globally. You have the ability to think strategically and take the lead on projects. You know content marketing inside-out, and are able to develop and execute engaging digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms.

The Content Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the Content Strategy across all WorkForClimate touch points (platform, playbook, social content, blog etc). The Content Manager must be able to produce content of a specialist nature (within the corporate sustainability and climate space) and must ensure that all copy also adheres to our brand tone-of-voice guidelines. Working closely with the Director and Product Manager, the Content Manager will ensure that content is created to deliver appropriate information to audiences at every stage of the customer journey.


About the role

WorkForClimate is an initiative within the Sunrise Project which is designed to accelerate the corporate shift away from fossil fuels. We are building a platform that provides individual professionals with the inspiration, tools and community to help them set and achieve ambitious climate goals within their organisation. 

Key responsibilities

  • Understand and become an expert in corporate sustainability and climate impacts, and use that knowledge to create effective, impactful, strategic and share-worthy content;

  • Devise and implement a WorkForClimate Content Strategy, incorporating product and creative content, with a focus on driving subscribers and achieving impact (getting companies to achieve climate goals);

  • Collaborate with the Director, Product Manager and other key stakeholders to brainstorm ideas and concepts grounded in data-driven insights and help lead development for product content;

  • Leverage a deep understanding of how content drives engagement, to develop curated content that is tailored to specific channels or touch-points to drive conversion

    Skills and experience

  • Experience in a content, journalism or marketing communications role, with specialist or expert knowledge of corporate sustainability and climate impacts

  • A deep passion for and demonstrated commitment to action on climate change

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build successful relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders 

  • Excellent written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the proven ability to effectively communicate information to a variety of audiences globally

  • Leadership capabilities and clear strategic thinking

  • Flexible disposition, happy to work outside areas of previous experience and happy to get stuck into laborious tasks when required; 

  • Strong familiarity with online marketing best practices, including developing and managing digital marketing campaigns
