The role

We now have a unique and exciting opportunity for a Senior Public Affairs Officer to join us, initially for 12 months, to work closely with a newly appointed Head of Public Affairs across the whole organisation including the Nuffield Foundation, Ada Lovelace Institute, Nuffield Family Justice Observatory and Nuffield Council on Bioethics. 

Working with the Head of Public Affairs you will be responsible for helping to develop this function raising awareness of the work of all the individual organisations and delivering impact and influence amongst a broad range of stakeholders. You will support the development and implementation of policy and parliamentary engagement practices to promote the work of the Nuffield Foundation and its sponsored bodies, ensuring a targeted and consistent approach. The role will involve monitoring political and policy developments, adapting policy material and writing briefings as well as building relationships with relevant stakeholders including parliamentarians and policymakers.

About You

Candidates must be self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise and organise a varied workload. You will have a background in public affairs, potentially working for a charity or a professional body with a good knowledge and understanding of the political and policy environment. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to develop strategic relationships across a variety of stakeholders and a commitment to neutrality and ability to work across the political spectrum.
