What’s the opportunity? 🤔

Avo is a startup based in San Francisco and Iceland, and backed by world class investors, including Y Combinator and Heavybit. We are looking for someone experienced in developer tools with a passion for creating outstanding developer experiences to join our team.

What will I be doing? 🚀

  • Writing code generators for programming languages, including JavaScript, TypeScript, ReasonML, Python, Ruby, Java, Kotlin, Objective C, Swift, C#, which will run on web, mobile, server, and game engines.

  • Developing in ReasonML, using technologies such as Google Firestore, Cloud Functions, BigQuery and React web framework.

  • Creating the best possible developer experience for developers that are using Avo. This means anything from generating type-safe analytics code to building innovative and flexible developer products, such as the Avo CLI, CI and GitHub integrations, webhooks, static code analysis, and the Avo web UI.

  • Writing documentation that developers love.

  • Always be improving.


What skills and traits do I need? 📚

  • Excellent communication and organization skills. Able to convey and communicate results and learnings in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.

  • Willing and able to work in a remote culture and communicate in writing.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.

  • Passion for creating an outstanding developer experience.

  • Excited about data-driven development.

  • Bonus for:

    • Experience with leveraging user behavior analytics to answer questions, for example, through building charts in Amplitude or querying SQL databases.

    • Experience implementing event-based analytics with tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Segment.

    • Experience building internal data pipelines.

    • Experience developing mobile SDKs.

    • Experience writing compilers.
