Job Description

At Unreasonable Group, we believe entrepreneurs building rapidly scalable businesses are our best bet for solving the most significant social and environmental challenges. Every day, our team strives to give entrepreneurs tackling these challenges an unfair advantage. We do this by connecting entrepreneurs with the networks of mentors, investors, businesses, policymakers and specialists they need to scale. Unreasonable’s economic model rests on identifying and securing new partnerships with multinational companies, foundations, and governments.

In this key hire, our Partnerships team is seeking an Associate to help us build out our research and analytics, systems, processes, pitch materials, and contract management expertise. This new hire will help the team significantly grow our partnerships pipeline, decrease our timelines to closing partnerships, and to create a best-in-class set of tools for finding, closing, and keeping our partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES...

  • Overall: You will use your business development, sales, research, and organizational expertise as well as your commercial acumen to manage processes supporting partnership generation and management.

  • Research: You will lead both small and extensive research projects to support business development of prospective partnerships, new product offerings, and new initiatives. This could involve anything from market assessments to issue-based research reports to prospective partner due diligence.

  • Systems/processes: You will help design, evolve, and manage systems and processes to assist with overall revenue growth and relationship management.

  • CRM: You will manage the team’s CRM system with military precision, ensuring full adoption and comprehensive usage. This does not mean you’ll do other teammate’s data input for them, but it does mean that you’ll hold other teammates accountable.

  • Pipeline management: You will provide weekly structured partnership pipeline updates to the team to accurately capture all potential revenue activity.

  • Proposals: You will work with the Partnerships team to develop customized and innovative proposals, pitch decks and follow-up materials to secure partnerships.

  • Events: You will represent Unreasonable at relevant industry events where you will develop relationships with prospective social ventures and partners.

  • Contract support: You will work with Unreasonable’s Director of Strategy and Partnerships as well as Unreasonable’s VP of Operations and Finance to ensure that contract negotiations are done in a compliant manner and to assist with contract management.

  • Program: When requested, during specific gatherings hosted by Unreasonable worldwide, you may serve as a host, liaison, and relationship manager for entrepreneurs and partners present at a given program.

  • Travel: This position will not require extensive travel, but at times you may need to be prepared to travel domestically and internationally to support with closing partners where an in-person meeting will help expedite the process.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR...

  • You love building, evolving, and maintaining systems, are a master organizer of all things, and always deliver on time.

  • You are experienced in business development, sales, project management, and/or market research. Ideally, you have experience in sales operations and CRM management.

  • You are religious about recording all notes and details from external and internal meetings because you understand that this is critical for building out a high-functioning team.

  • You always, without exception, follow up and follow through. You can’t fall asleep until you send out that promised follow up email and proposal that you mentioned on a call that day.

  • You are what we would refer to as a GyShiDo Master.

  • You bring a strong grammatical, messaging, and design eye to what you do

  • You believe deeply in the importance of transparent and honest communication with yourself and with the teams you are a part of.

  • You are equally able to work alongside a partner or team as you are able to take full ownership of a project from start to finish.

  • You are never the type of person who says, “That’s not my job."

  • You believe that the best way to solve the pressing challenges of the 21st century is to support and drive resources to entrepreneurs positioned to bend history in the right direction.

BONUS POINTS IF...

  • You come with a network of trusted relationships across multinational companies, foundations, family offices, and governments that may be an ideal fit for collaboration with Unreasonable.

  • You speak multiple languages and have worked on partnerships globally across multiple continents.

COMPENSATION…

As a fulltime employee of Unreasonable Group, you will receive many benefits including unlimited paid vacation (mandatory 2 weeks a year), employer contributed healthcare coverage for you and up to two dependents, global company cell phone plan, a SIMPLE IRA with company match of 3%, and the chance to work with a fast-paced entrepreneurial team hellbent on ensuring we play our part in bending history in the right direction. In addition to your base salary, all employees are allotted with an aggressive bonus structure that is aligned with the annual goals of the company. That said, unlike many partnership and business development roles, you will not receive commission based on your individual performance or on the partnerships you help to close. One of our core values is “We > I” and our bonus structure is representative of the team’s overall performance rather than any individual’s specific achievements within the company.
