Job Description

About the role

We're looking for a Programme Manager to support the delivery of our Culture in Common Programme in the New Forest.

The Programme Manager will work with the Programme Director on the delivery of projects, workshops and events as well as be the main liaison for our Community Anchors.

You'll bring your creativity to develop creative programming with grass roots organisations, and your communication skills to deliver community consultations across the New Forest.

You'll also be expected to help us and Arts Council England monitor success, and understand what works and what doesn't.

Key Duties

  • Creatively programming arts and culture activities alongside communities

  • Managing strategic and operational relationships and building networks

  • Advising and training local events organisers on the use of community voice and insight

  • Day to Day management of the programme, including contract and budget management

  • Capturing learning and insight to feed into the programme evaluation

  • Representing Culture in Common at community and programme events

Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience of creative project or programme management

  • Experience of building positive relationships with communities, stakeholders, artists and partners

  • Knowledge of Asset Based Community Development

  • Some knowledge of The New Forest

  • Knowledge of arts co-creation

  • Knowledge of measuring and evaluation principles

  • Willing to work some evening and weekends to attend events

About Culture in Common

We’re a New Forest creative people and places programme creating more opportunities for residents to see and take part in creative activities. We work across the whole of the New Forest but with a specific focus on working with residents in Totton, the Waterside, New Milton, Pennington and the Avon Valley.

Our 10 year vision is to spark widespread engagement in a sustainable,inclusive and locally inspired offer that makes arts and culture as synonymous with the district as the New Forest Pony.

The programme started in 2022 and investment is secured from Arts Council England until March 2029.

Over the next three years we will

  • Engage more people from priority places in a wide range of creative and cultural experiences as audiences and/or particpants.

  • Empower communities to lead and shape their local opportunities

  • Make sure the engagement with communities and creative and cultural experiences on offer are relevant excellent

  • Encourage partnerships and collaboration

  • Share our learning with other sectors and organisations
