Project Description:
Identify marketing and PR opportunities to advertise Mentoring Programme across social media ready to launch in Autumn 2024.
Determine the ideal route to secure mentee engagement.
Develop a mentoring programme Communications Plan
Identify suitable events in the Space industry calendar and regular networking events to showcase the mentoring programme for both mentees and prospective mentors.
Engage with the target market on social media platforms to determine potential uptake (feeds into mentor training programme).
Identify types of communications for launch and programme development.
Create communications schedule to inform social media plan
Potential to develop a social media plan and schedule of content.
Opportunity available to present at industry networking event.
Programme Background
Further develop the approach to market for the Undergraduate Mentoring Programme ‘Lift Off Stay Grounded!’
Programme designed to support and develop undergraduates across the final years of university who wish to pursue a career in the space industry and would benefit from support. The programme is a combination of Industry mentorship, leadership development activities and events. Mentees will have a professionally matched mentor who will support them over a 12-15 month period and the opportunity to meet and network with space companies ahead of leaving university.

Applicant Specification:
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Effective project management skills and good attention to detail;
Strong organisational skills.
Strategic thinking and a willingness to offer ideas.
Strong copywriting skills - able to articulate the mentoring programme aims and ideas clearly and succinctly;
Proficient user of MS 365 and office programmes, social media platforms; knowledge of Canva, photo and/or video editing would be an advantage but is not essential.
A personable, presentable and articulate team member with the ability and willingness to work collaboratively;
Self-starter with the ability to work independently
Process details:
Eight weeks minimum fixed term contract. Start date to be agreed with successful candidate
In-person Induction Event to be agreed on acceptance of offer, and an in-person/hybrid Showcase Event to be held at the end of the eight week placement.
5 days holiday to be taken during the placement, booked with manager
It is understood that annual leave may already be booked for the summer months and would appreciate early notice.
