Summary of role

Anthesis offers a wide range of sustainability and environmental consultancy services across Ireland and internationally, focusing on innovation and delivery of real business value. We are seeking a motivated, forward looking, and smart thinking individual to join our team working on national and international sustainability and environmental assignments. The ideal candidate possesses 1-3 years of working experience within sustainability / environmental consultancy companies or within an in-house corporate sustainability role. Knowledge of and familiarity with relevant Irish and EU regulations is preferred. The candidate will be based in Ireland, working with the Irish and European teams on projects for clients based in Ireland and internationally and supported by a large team of experts in Europe, North America and across our global teams. The role presents an excellent opportunity to gain varied, cross-sectoral sustainability related experience as part of a fast growing and fast paced organisation. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Working on Irish and/or international projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary and multinational teams;

  • Undertaking project related and business development / market related research; collecting and analysing data; engaging with a range of stakeholders;

  • Drafting technical reports and documents; and providing support in the preparation of content for proposals, client meetings, workshops, events and marketing content;

  • You will be expected to participate in client projects and proposals and to deliver tasks on time and within budget, and to assist the project managers to ensure that projects perform against targets and deadlines and meet client expectations; you may also be given project management responsibilities.

  • We are not expecting candidates to have extensive experience in Anthesis’ areas of focus, rather show a broad understanding of key relevant sustainability topics and trends, along with great potential to develop and succeed in the role, acting as a sustainability activator for our clients.

 

Required Skills

  • 1-3 years’ experience in sustainability / environmental consulting and / or in-house sustainability role;

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and consulting skills; particularly an understanding of the sustainability challenges that organisations face in today’s climate;

  • Effective time management and organisational skills;

  • Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment.

 

Personal Attributes and Qualities

  • Previous background or demonstrated passion for sustainability and the environment, with university degree and education in environmental engineering; environmental sciences; chemistry; or related.

  • Ability to work well with a wide range of people on a global basis;

  • Curious, globally minded and enthusiastic;

  • Soft skills (e.g. communication, collaboration) and capabilities in problem solving and solutions, and any additional languages, also a plus.
