Job Description

Greens in Bristol secured some of the Green Party’s best ever election results in 2021, winning 24 council seats and achieving our first ever second place at a city mayor election anywhere. Greens are now the leading party in parts of Bristol and are recognised as a major political force. The party is investing in building a new team to strategise and deliver on the very next set of election wins: Bristol’s first ever Green MP and to make significant gains at the council elections in 2024.

The Campaign Organiser will support Bristol Green Party's election campaign teams and assist running successful election campaigns leading up to the multiple elections in May 2024. The Bristol Campaign Organiser role is people-focussed. The Organiser will recruit, retain and motivate our activists and volunteers to elect Green councillors, MPs and mayors.

Principal Roles and Responsibilities

1. Support ward-based election campaign groups to deliver successful election campaigns up to May 2024, including:

i. Developing relationships with key activists and election campaign leads in ward teams, empowering them to achieve their goals and Bristol-wide goals.  

ii.Leading on capacity building and recruiting volunteers

iii. Holding regular action days

iv. Managing a regular programme of training and events

2. Assisting with planning and managing Green Party events locally. 

3. Assist with recruiting candidates, with a focus on diversity.

4. Work with the Bristol Campaign Manager to recruit and manage skilled volunteers – e.g. designers and writers - to produce campaign literature.

5. Project manage production of literature.

6. Work with campaign teams to ensure use of effective election messaging.
