Introduction

At SLQ Sports Leaders, we believe in the importance of transferable life skills, having supported millions of young people through recognised leadership qualifications and awards over the past 40 years.

These centres deliver our qualifications, awards and programmes to around 100,000 young people each year, incorporating millions of hours of learning and volunteering. But we want to do more to achieve our vision for 'Every Young Person to Realise Their Potential'.

Our approach engages learners through practically applied, experiential learning and encourages volunteering with peers. Learner’s practice and develop transferable, life-long skills and behaviours based on our Skills Framework, to improve Communication, Self-Belief, Teamwork, Self-Management and Problem-Solving.

As we enter an exciting new growth period for the organisation, we are seeking to increase our impact through a diverse range of qualifications, awards and programmes that provide opportunities to improve our reach. In the next 12 months, we will celebrate our 40th anniversary, review our brand and identity and continue to pilot and launch new leadership programmes and services beyond our traditional ‘sports’ offer.
