Job Description
The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) has an unswerving commitment to high quality, evidence-informed teacher education, and is on a mission to improve the quality of teacher and leader development across the system.
The NIoT Faculty is responsible for the quality and integrity of our programmes and connects our design, development and delivery teams. We have four small faculty teams, one for each of the four golden thread programmes: ITT, ECF, NPQ and NLE.
We are looking to recruit a Faculty Co-Ordinator who will report directly into our NLE Faculty lead and Regional Principal in the South and West region.
The Faculty Co-Ordinator NLE plays two roles: they support the successful delivery of our NLE programme which will run for two years with cohorts starting in 2022 and 2023.
In addition, they are a critical resource for our regional team and support the Regional Principal in relation to other administrative efforts and planning.
This is a two-year fixed term contract; with the potential for extension, depending on future programming at the NIoT.
Key Responsibilities
Co-ordinating and administering our NLE programme
To be a key point of contact for our NLE programme participants and support them with responses around programme logistics and administration
To ensure our digital Learning Management System is up to date and that all NLE participants have relevant access
To draft and post programmes updates on the LMS
To set up and help prepare key events for the NLE programme, including the drafting of materials, printing, venue booking etc.
To support the NLE lead (Regional Principal) with all other administrative efforts around the NLE programme
Regional support
To offer relevant administrative support to other team members in the South and West region, as agreed with the Regional Principal. This might include tasks like: helping to organise key meetings with our Associate Colleges, administrative tasks related to our other programmes (ITT, ECF and NPQ) or hands-on support with marketing and recruitment
Essential Criteria
A commitment to the aims of the National Institute of Teaching.
Outstanding track record of co-ordinating key events or programmes (ideally in the education sector)
Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Highly proficient in the use of MS Office software packages, such as Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as search engines and online databases
A pro-active approach that focuses on solutions for the benefit of participants on programmes in particular
Highly proficient in managing and monitoring processes which drive successful delivery of programmes and reporting
A sensitivity to the requirements of different audiences and an ability to adapt style appropriately
Desirable criteria
Previous experience of working in a remote and geographically distributed team
Previous experience in the education sector
Experience of using management information systems and/or various online learning environments, particularly Microsoft Teams
Previous expertise of supporting training in the education sector.
Further Information
The NIoT team is currently made up of seconded staff from its Founding MATs supported by specialist external contractors. We are now transitioning from this start-up phase and are recruiting for permanent staff to take over the work of the NIoT from this founding team.
