About the role

We are seeking a professional and conscientious individual to fill this Health Visitor Assistant (HVA) vacancy within SSAFA for the Defence Primary Health Care facility, British Forces, Brunei.

This post will provide practical support and a translation service to our Health Visiting department during Health Visiting clinics and at home visits conducted by the Health Visitor.

This role also includes administration such as appointment bookings and updating health records.  Additional duties will include supporting the HV in presentations, health promotion activities and assisting in the collation and presentation of data reports.

This is a unique position for the right candidate.  As the HVA you can build relationships within the community and advise the Health Visitor around traditions and cultural practices while at the same time helping to safeguard children.

About the team

The team consists of two Health Visitors and administrative support, you will be integrated into a team of dedicated Healthcare professionals and expected to work within the Primary Care Medical Facility (PCMF) alongside other allied professionals such as Doctors, Nurses, and Physiotherapists.  The Health Visitors follow the Healthy Child Programme, and you will support with the delivery of this.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have excellent written and verbal communication in both English and Nepali language.  You will also have a good telephone manner, great organisational and computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office.

The ability to deal professionally and sympathetically with members of the public and adhere to a strict code of confidentiality is essential.  A range of professional relationships will need to be built externally and internally, hence; demonstrable interpersonal skills will be required.  Previous experience of working in a health or early years setting would be advantageous.
