This is a varied and interesting role working with the National Grants Team and colleagues across the Programmes & Partnerships Directorate. We awarded over £2.4m of grants in 2023-24, supporting individuals and families experiencing financial insecurity. This role is about helping the team to operate efficiently, use our resources effectively and facilitating opportunities so we can listen, learn and improve using the insights we gather from our data, partnerships and people with lived experience.
This role requires a proactive, organised, and collaborative person with good attention to detail. We’re looking for someone who is committed to supporting impactful grant-making processes and fostering strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll need to be great at managing a varied and busy workload, capable of working on your own initiative and as part of a team and feel comfortable working flexibly to manage different priorities and timeframes.
We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. Please note that all employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 4 days a month. Some roles may be required to be in the office more often than others and this will be agreed with the hiring manager upon starting at Turn2us.

Job Description
Job Title: Grants Support Officer
Department: National Grants Team
Reports to: Head of National Grants
Location: Hybrid: Turn2us London Hub (Hammersmith) & homeworking
Type of role: Full-time, permanent
Purpose of the Role:
To provide programme, project and administrative support to the National Grants Team, helping to maintain effective and efficient ways of working that support positive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and help to maintain impactful relationships with key partner organisations.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Provide efficient and effective programme, project, and general administration support to the National Grants Team.
2. Support the planning and management of workflows and reporting processes across the National Grants Team.
3. Contribute to reviewing and improving processes and ways of working across the team and wider organisation.
4. Support positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partner organisations and coproduction partners.
Duties:
1. Provide efficient and effective programme, project, and general administrative support to the National Grants Team
Support the coordination and management of project and programme activities and events.
Oversee the upkeep of digital team folders, documentation and database records to support effective and efficient information management and data protection.
Work with the Head of National Grants to organise team meetings, workshops and the annual away day, arranging agendas, circulating meeting papers, recording minutes and managing the action log.
Support the Head of National Grant Programmes with diary management, planning and reporting.
Provide coordination and administrative support for recruitment processes in collaboration with HR colleagues.
Oversee the collation and circulation of updates and communications about the work of the National Grants team with all relevant internal staff.
Monitor and action external enquiries and messages for the National Grants team received via email, post, telephone and the Turn2us website.
Attend occasional meetings and activities in UK locations outside of London as required.
2. Support the planning and management of workflows and reporting processes across the National Grants Team.
Help to plan, implement and maintain the team workplan, priorities and objectives.
Support the development and maintenance of programme data dashboards and regular reporting activities.
Carry out desk-based research and information gathering to help explore new opportunities and partnerships.
Liaise with colleagues in the Income & External Affairs Directorate to support fundraising and communication activities in line with agreed priorities and timeframes.
3. Contribute to reviewing and improving processes and ways of working across the team, wider organisation and grant-making sector.
Collaborate with colleagues and teams within the Impact & Innovation Directorate to help embed and maintain good practice in relation to safeguarding, Equity Diversity Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) and Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) practices across the national grant programmes and projects.
Liaise with the Business Support team to help develop and implement effective ways of working.
Participate and actively engage in cross-organisation initiatives as appropriate to share learning and foster collaboration.
Develop opportunities for collaboration and learning with other funders across the grants to individuals’ sector.
4. Support positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners and coproduction partners.
Support the collation and assessment of information as part of the due diligence process for new partners and suppliers.
Provide support to co-production partners and people with lived experience actively engaged with the National Grants Team, including supporting effective communications, sharing materials ahead of meetings and ensuring payments are processed efficiently.
Help to facilitate opportunities for collaboration and shared learning across the Programmes and Partnerships Directorate.
These are the normal duties, which the Charity requires from the position. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and all employees will be required from time to time to perform other duties as may be required by the Charity for the efficient running of the charity. This Job Description is non-contractual. It will be reviewed from time to time and may be subject to change.
