Summary
The Centre for Justice Innovation is looking to recruit an Admin Coordinator who will provide administrative support to the criminal justice practice team, helping us to champion and support the implementation of evidence-based approaches in the criminal justice system.
What will you be doing?
We are looking to recruit a motivated individual to join our team to support the delivery of the Centre's work. The role will involve providing administrative support to the Head of Women's Justice and the wider criminal justice practice team. This support will help deliver the Centre's programme of work, which focuses on assisting criminal justice practitioners, including probation, police, court staff and specialist 3rd sector practitioners to implement evidence-led approaches in the justice system.
As the Admin Coordinator, you will work to ensure the smooth running of the Centre's Women in Justice and wider criminal justice practice projects, taking responsibility for the logistics of the work, including: (i) coordinating training, workshops and events, including a national conference; (ii) maintaining information systems and documentation; (iii) supporting data collection; and (iv) identifying and responding to queries from practitioners.
Your responsibilities will also include:
Administration of events, including securing venues and facilities, inviting delegates and participants, overseeing the attendee list, organising any travel arrangements or other necessary resources;
Assisting in the coordination and development of practice workshops, national events, practitioner forums, email bulletins, briefings and toolkits in order to support and champion best practice within the criminal justice system;
Liaising with stakeholders, including judges, probation and police leads, funders and policymakers;
Preparing invoices and reports;
Arranging and taking minutes at formal meetings, including recording of decisions;
Coordinating and implementing office procedures with responsibility for specific tasks;
Maintaining information systems and documentation, including our women's justice stakeholder contact list;
Arranging appointments, scheduling and attending meetings, and creating agendas;
Supporting practitioners by understanding and responding to their practice support needs, in consultation with the Head of Women's Justice;
Supporting the team by taking on other ad-hoc tasks as they arise.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
The role requires the following skills, knowledge and experience:
ExperienceProven work experience of at least one year as an Administrative Coordinator, Administrator, Events Coordinator or similar role (essential);
Experience with MS Office Suite (particularly MS Word and MS Excel) (essential);
Experience using Eventbrite, Mailchimp, Surveymonkey and Doodle polls (desirable).
Clear writing skills and good verbal communication skills;
Good organisational and team work skills;
The ability to balance multiple priorities and manage your own workload;
The ability to work at pace and to deadline;
The enthusiasm and energy to work in a small team;
Strong skills in engaging a variety of audiences constructively.
The post holder needs to have:
A willingness and ability to travel within the UK;
Eligibility to work in the UK legally.
