Job Description

This role sits in the PRI’s Investor Initiatives and Collaboration team and will primarily focus on the UN-Convened Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance (NZAOA), co-convened by the PRI and UNEP FI. The successful candidate will work at the heart of this flagship net zero initiative to ensure smooth operations and management of the Alliance. 

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and collaborative individual who can support the day-to-day running of the NZAOA. The successful candidate will bring strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills and a proactive solutions-focused approach to work, helping to improve systems and ways of working. The candidate should also be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment, using shared filing systems correctly, and adhering to existing processes.

The candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, communicate effectively in written and verbal communications, and build productive relationships with colleagues and external partners, contributing to a supportive and inclusive team environment.

Core Responsibilities

  •  Support the Operations Manager in leading the management of Secretariat operations of the Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance (the Alliance), including organizing meetings, circulating agendas, drafting meeting materials, and other shared documentation. Identify and implement opportunities to improve internal processes where possible, including through the effective use of Asana for task tracking and project coordination. 

  •  Support the Operations Manager in annual budget development, invoice management, and payment tracking, ensuring accurate records are maintained in Salesforce. 

  •  Support efforts to develop annual workplans. 

  •  Manage the membership database, including regular updates to signatory contact details, and coordinate the upcoming project to verify and refresh all membership records. 

  • Manage the Secretariat inbox, including responding to emails from signatories, directing emails to relevant team members, tracking email engagement, and updating the membership database based on incoming correspondence. 

  • Manage processes for Alliance internal governance meetings, including with C-level members. 

  • Draft, co-ordinate and collate input on key deliverables including briefings, reports and guidance documents. 

  • Contribute to the drafting, editing, and updating of the Operations Handbook. Draft, edit and update an Associate-level handover document. 

  • Due to the global nature of the net zero initiatives, and our close working with partners in different time zones, some flexible working outside of core working hours may be required on occasion (e.g. in relation to key stakeholder meetings).  

Person Specification & Selection Criteria

  • Experience of team organisational work, including but not limited to inbox management, project support, internal communications;

  • Good time management and logistical skills;

  • Strong multi-stakeholder engagement skills including in virtual setting 

  • Demonstrates entry level specialist knowledge as relevant to the role, with ability to present options and analyses in an appropriate format providing clear and concise recommendations   

  • Excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills. 

  • Prioritises and organises time effectively, focussing on the key team priorities, to ensure efficient and timely delivery of work 

  • A collaborative and consultative approach to working with others & committed to fostering an inclusive environment 

  • Ability to work with ambiguity and adapt quickly to changes 

  • Demonstrates an organised and efficient approach, proactively identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working, and implementing improvements 

  • Good networking, relationship management and interpersonal skills and experience of building strong and productive relationships at all levels 

  • IT/Digital skills: Microsoft Office, Inbox management, Asana experience or other project management tools is beneficial for the role

  • Very good programme management skills, with experience in delivering complex projects successfully, including directing others that may not be your direct reports

  • As this is a global role, international travel may be required, in particular to UN offices in Geneva.

  • Language skills, other than English, are desirable.
