But who are we?
The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is a social purpose company that combines two approaches to improve people’s lives and communities. First, we use behavioural science (behavioural economics, social psychology) to design new policy ideas with our partners. Second, we run policy experiments, often using randomised controlled trials (RCTs), to determine the effectiveness of those ideas.
Our Singapore office was launched in September 2016. BIT is a trusted advisor to government agencies in Singapore, working with ministries-- for example the Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Community, Culture, and Community, and the Ministry of Home Affairs-- and many more statutory authorities. We also have a growing private sector programme of work.
To date, we have managed more than 250 behavioural projects, just under half of which are randomised-controlled trials. We are also leaders in the behavioural science capability development space, having trained more than 5000 civil servants and practitioners in behavioural insights since 2016.
We believe that understanding how people make decisions in the real world can help you design and deliver better policies and services. We work with government, NGO and private sector partners to develop human-centred solutions that are creative, low-cost and scalable. We robustly evaluate our recommendations to ensure that they result in better outcomes.
As an indication of the sort of work you could be involved in - here are some examples of projects that we work on:
What can we offer you as a BIT Employee?
We encourage flexible working and have a culture that enables this; for example flexible start and finish times, and a hybrid working model (minimum 2 days per week in the office). We make an effort to adapt to our staff’s circumstances so that we can get the best out of everyone.
Regular team lunches and social events.
We foster a supportive environment where you’ll learn and grow with on-the-job training as well as having access to an individual training and development budget.
Our close-knit Singapore team works closely with our global network of BI specialists and experts. We prioritise collaboration and team problem solving.
